“말하기, 글쓰기를 잘하기 위해서 먼저 해야 할 것은 내가 가장 잘할 수 있는 키워드를 정하는 것이다.”

 

강원국 작가는 ‘말하기 글쓰기’를 잘하기 위한 결정적 요인으로 ‘자신만의 주제를 정하는 것’을 들며, 그것이 자신에게는 ‘글쓰기’였다고 말했다.

강 작가는 ‘대통령의 글쓰기’라는 베스트셀러의 작가로 김우중 대우그룹 회장이 전경련 회장으로 있을 때 연설문 담당 비서였으며, 김대중 대통령 시절에는 청와대 공보수석실 행정관으로 경제분야 연설문을 담당했고, 노무현 대통령 시절에는 연설담당 비서관으로 일했다.

강 작가가 제시한 말하기 쓰기가 가능해진 두 번째 이유는 직장을 그만두고 돈을 벌기 위해 들어간 후배 출판사 사장의 권유대로 ‘지식 농사’를 짓기 위해, ‘지식 자영업자’가 되기 위해 .
