“감성과 체육 역량이 겸비되지 않으면 균형 잡힌 교육이라고 볼 수 없다. 체육은 기초 역량과 기본 인성을 동시에 교육하는 핵심 교과다.”

임태희 경기도교육청 교육감이 지난 5월 25일 남부청사에서 ‘아동의 건강한 성장을 위한 신체활동 교육(체육)’을 주제로 개최한 학교체육 포럼 환영사에서 이같이 강조했다.

이번 포럼은 유치원의 신체활동 교육 강화와 초등학교 1, 2학년 체육교과 분리에 따른 학교체육 활성화 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련했다.

포럼은 더코리아스포츠포럼 최윤 상임대표와 한국체육학회 이한경 회장의 개회사와 축사로 학교체육의 중요성을 강조하며 관계 기관이 경기교육과 대한민국 교육 발전을 위해 함께 협력할 것을 당부했다.

이날 전선혜 중앙대 교수가 ‘평생 건강의 시작, 유아의 신체활동으로부터’라는 제목으로, 박재성 행당초 교사는 ‘교사와 학생 모두 행복한 초등 저학년 놀이체육 수업 설계와 지향’이란 주제 발표를 하고, 박채희 한국체육대학교 교수의 질의응답이 이어졌다.

이어서 이재구 삼육대학교 교수를 좌장으로 △전선혜 중앙대학교 교수 △박재성 행당초등학교 교사 △권오순 부천북초등학교병설유치원 교사 △박성환 송린초등학교 교사가 참여하는 토론이 진행돼 교사 지원 통합적 플랫폼과 신체활동 교육 프로그램, 연수의 필요성 등이 제안됐다. 안전한 신체활동 교육이 가능한 공간과 전문 협력 강사가 필요하다는 현장의 의견도 개진됐다.

임태희 교육감은 “인성과 역량을 겸비한 인재가 경기교육의 목표”라며, “경기교육을 받은 학생은 기초와 기본을 갖추고 있다는 교육이 이뤄지면 좋겠다”면서 “경기교육이 바꿔나가면 표준이 된다는 생각으로 좋은 모델을 만들어 주시길 바란다”고 당부했다.

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Holds Forum on ‘Physical Activity Education for Healthy Growth of Children’

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Superintendent of Education Lim Tae-hee emphasized this in his welcoming speech at the school physical education forum held on May 25 at the Southern Office Building with the theme of ‘Physical Activity Education for Healthy Growth of Children (Physical Education).’

This forum was organized to explore ways to strengthen physical activity education in kindergartens and to vitalize school physical education following the separation of physical education subjects for 1st and 2nd grade elementary school students.

The forum emphasized the importance of school physical education through opening remarks and congratulatory speeches by Choi Yoon, Standing Representative of The Korea Sports Forum, and Lee Han-kyung, President of the Korean Society of Physical Education, and asked related organizations to cooperate for the development of Gyeonggi education and education in the Republic of Korea.

On this day, Professor Jeon Seon-hye of Chung-Ang University gave a presentation titled ‘The Beginning of Lifelong Health, from Physical Activity of Toddlers’, and Teacher Park Jae-seong of Haengdang Elementary School gave a presentation titled ‘Design and Direction of Elementary School Lower Grade Play Physical Education Classes That Make Both Teachers and Students Happy’, followed by a Q&A session with Professor Park Chae-hee of Korea National Sport University.

Then, a discussion was held with Professor Lee Jae-gu of Samyuk University as the moderator, with Professor Jeon Seon-hye of Chung-Ang University, Teacher Park Jae-seong of Haengdang Elementary School, Teacher Kwon Oh-soon of Bucheonbuk Elementary School Attached Kindergarten, and Teacher Park Seong-hwan of Songrin Elementary School participating, suggesting the need for an integrated platform for teacher support, physical activity education programs, and training. Opinions from the field were also expressed regarding the need for a space where safe physical activity education is possible and professional instructors for cooperation.

Superintendent Lim Tae-hee said, “The goal of Gyeonggi education is to have talents with both character and ability,” and added, “I hope that students who have received Gyeonggi education will be educated to have the basics and fundamentals,” and added, “I hope that Gyeonggi education will change and become a standard, and I hope that you will create a good model.”
