경기도교육청(교육감 임태희)이 지난 3월 6일 남부청사 중회의실에서 학교시설 개방 관련 정책을 체계적으로 수립하고 내실 있게 추진하기 위해 ‘학교시설 개방 활성화 추진단’을 구성하고 2025년도 제1차 협의회를 개최했다.

경기도도교육청 한근수 행정국장을 단장으로 경기도의회, 지자체, 학교, 경기도체육회 소속 직원 등 16명의 위원으로 구성된 추진단은 제1차 협의회에서 △2025년 학교시설 개방 활성화 계획 설명 △기관별 부서별 지원 방안 논의 △자유로운 정책 제안 및 부서별 세부 주제 토론을 진행했다.

한근수 단장은 이 자리에서 “학교시설은 지역 내 접근성이 매우 우수한 공유시설로, 주민들로부터 개방 요구가 항상 높다”며, “다만 학생의 교육과 안전을 책임지는 학교와 견해차가 있는 것이 현실이기에 학교시설 개방은 학교, 교육청, 이용자, 유관기관 모두가 함께 노력해야 한다”고 말했다.

경기도교육청은 향후 학교시설 개방을 통해 지역과 함께하는 경기미래교육 실현에 박차를 가할 계획이다. 이를 위해 △학교와 이용자 의식 개선을 위한 학교시설 개방 지침 마련 및 보급 △학교시설사용 온라인 예약시스템 구축 등 지원체계 구축 △학교시설 개방지원 업무협약 우수사례 확대 등 세부 방안을 마련해 추진할 예정이다.
