안양시가 사회복지의 날(9월 7일)을 기념해 지난 9월 3일 오후 롯데백화점 식품관 평촌점 문화홀에서 사회복지 관련 종사자와 함께하는 ‘제26회 사회복지의 날 기념식 및 복지인 한마당’을 개최했다.

안양시사회복지협의회 주관, 안양시 후원으로 ‘기본이 튼튼한 복지강국’을 주제로 열린 이날 행사는 사회복지 종사자와 시민 등 400여명이 참석한 가운데 1부 안양시사회복지협의회장의 이·취임식, 2부 기념식 순으로 진행됐다.

사회복지의 날은 사회복지에 대한 국민의 이해를 높이고, 관련 종사자의 사기 진작과 활동 장려를 위한 법정기념일.

1부 협의회장 이취임식은 안양시노인복지관의 어르신 난타팀인 ‘신난타’가 사회복지의 날을 축하하는 공연으로 막을 올렸고, 지난 3년간 협의회를 이끌어온 도준우 회장이 임기를 마무리하고, 김광진 평화의집 원장이 안양시사회복지협의회장에 새롭게 취임했다.

2부에서는 사회복지사업 윤리 선언문 낭독과 함께 복지증진을 위해 헌신한 사회복지 유공자 47명에게 표창장이 수여됐다. 또, 사회복지 종사자들이 화합하고 서로 격려하며, 지친 마음을 위로하는 뜻깊은 축하공연이 이어졌다.

축사에 나선 최대호 안양시장은 “사회복지의 필요성과 다양성이 요구되는 지역사회에서 묵묵히 따뜻한 손길을 내밀며 취약계층을 위해 선한 영향력을 전하고 계신 사회복지 종사자분들의 노고에 감사드린다”며, “사회복지 종사자들이 긍지와 자부심을 가지고 일할 수 있는 환경을 만드는 데 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

강득구 국회의원은 “민주당이 집권해 앞으로 사회복지의 큰 틀은 국가에서 방향을 잡게 돼 있다”며, “무한한 책임감을 갖고 사회복지가 그리고 복지 인프라가 그리고 사회복지 현장에서 종사하시는 여러분들이 최소한의 인권, 최소한의 자긍심을 가질 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
