대한민국상이군경회 안양시지회(회장 백연수)가 11월 12일 오전 평촌 마벨리에에서 ‘2025 대한민국상이군경회 안양시지회 위안 행사’를 개최했다.

이날 행사는 식전공연, 모범회원 시상, 환영사, 축사, 격려사, 축하케이크 커팅, 기념촬영, 오찬, 식후 공연 순으로 진행됐다.

이날 시상식에서는 박석길 회원이 안양시장상, 홍성희 회원이 안양시의회 의장상, 이상배 회원이 경기남부 보훈지청장상, 김명 회원이 대한민국상이군경회 경기도지부장상을 각각 수상했다.

백연수 대한민국상이군경회 안양시지회장은 환영사에서 “이 자리에 계신 분들은 나라를 위한 6.25 전쟁 참전 선배들, 자유와 평화를 위한 월남 전쟁에서 20대의 젊은 나이에 생과 사의 기로에서 팔과 다리를 잃어버리고 청춘을 국가에 바친 영웅들, 각지에서 전투 중 부상을 입은 선배 동료, 후배님들 모두 나라를 위해 흘린 피와 땀의 가치를 아는 진짜 영웅들”이라며, “상이군경회는 지금도 전쟁이 난다면 나설 각오가 돼 있는 용사들의 단체다. 지난 8월 광복절 행사의 발표에서 이재명 대통령께서는 ‘국가를 위한 특별한 희생에는 특별한 보상과 예우가 필요하다’고 말씀하셔서 최소한의 예우이자 마땅히 해야 할 책무라는 말씀에 기대를 크게 가지고 있다”고 말했다.

최대호 안양시장은 영상 축사에서 “나라를 위해 헌신해 주신 여러분의 희생과 역할이 있었기에 오늘의 자유롭고 평화로운 대한민국이 있을 수 있었다. 이 자리를 빌려 진심 어린 감사와 존경의 마음을 전한다”고 말했다.

박준모 안양시의회 의장은 “상이군경회는 우리나라의 각종 안보 위기 때마다 자유와 평화 수호를 위해 국민들의 안보 의지를 결집하기 위해 큰 역할을 해 주셨다”며, “여러분들이 계셨기에 지금의 대한민국, 그리고 지금의 안양, 그리고 지금의 우리 후손들이 있지 않나 생각한다. 오늘 평화 수호를 위한 행사가 여러분들의 마음을 조금이라도 위로하는 소중한 시간이 되기를 바라며 회원 간의 화합과 결속을 다지는 즐겁고 행복한 시간이 될 수 있기를 희망한다”고 말했다.

이날 행사에는 대한민국상이군경회 안양시지회 회원들을 비롯해 안양시의 각종 보훈단체 회원들 200여명이 참석해 성황을 이뤘다.
