의왕시(시장 김성제)가 지난 11월 18일 시청 대회의실에서 국제 우호도시인 베트남 다낭시 하이쩌우동 학생 문화교류 대표단 환영식 개최를 시작으로 11월 24일까지 6박 7일 간의 ‘2025 의왕시·다낭시 학생문화교류 프로그램’을 진행한다.

이번 프로그램은 양 도시 간 상호 초청 형식으로 운영되는 청소년 국제교류사업 중 하나로, 올해에는 베트남 중학생 10명이 의왕시를 방문해 의왕시 청소년과 1:1로 짝을 이뤄 의왕시 가정에서 홈스테이를 하며 다양한 문화체험 활동을 함께할 예정이다.

참가 학생들은 한국어 배우기, 전통예절 및 우리 음식 만들기 체험, 주요 문화유적 및 명소 탐방 등 다채로운 프로그램을 통해 한국의 전통과 현대문화를 직접 체험하게 된다.

이날 환영식에서는 다낭시 및 의왕시 학생과 홈스테이 참여 가족, 양측 교류 관계자 등 50여 명이 양 도시 간 교류를 축하하고 계획된 일정을 서로 공유했다.

김성제 의왕시장은 “이번 교류를 통해 양국 청소년들이 서로의 문화를 이해하고 존중하는 마음을 키워 글로벌 시대를 이끌어갈 인재로 성장하길 바란다”며, “앞으로도 지속적인 국제교류를 통해 청소년들의 시야를 넓히고 세계시민으로서의 역량을 키워나가겠다”고 말했다.

내년 2월에는 의왕시 청소년들이 베트남 다낭시 하이쩌우동을 방문해 현지 가정에서 홈스테이를 하며 베트남 문화를 배우고 우정을 이어갈 예정이다.

Ten Vietnamese Middle School Students to Participate in 6-Night, 7-Day Homestay and Korean Cultural Experiences

Uiwang City (Mayor Kim Seong-je) will host the "2025 Uiwang-Da Nang Student Cultural Exchange Program" for six nights and seven days, starting with a welcoming ceremony for a student cultural exchange delegation from Hai Chau District, Da Nang City, Vietnam, an international friendship city, in the City Hall conference room on November 18th. This program will run until November 24th for six nights and seven days.

This program is one of the youth international exchange projects operated through mutual invitations between the two cities. This year, ten Vietnamese middle school students will visit Uiwang City, pair up one-on-one with Uiwang City youth, and participate in a homestay with Uiwang City families and various cultural experiences.

Participating students will learn Korean, experience traditional etiquette and Korean food, and explore major cultural sites and landmarks, allowing them to experience both traditional and modern Korean culture firsthand. At the welcoming ceremony, approximately 50 people, including students from Da Nang and Uiwang, families participating in the homestay program, and exchange officials from both sides, celebrated the exchange between the two cities and shared the planned schedule.

Uiwang Mayor Kim Seong-je said, "Through this exchange, I hope that young people from both countries will develop an understanding and respect for each other's cultures and grow into leaders who will lead the global era." He added, "We will continue to broaden the perspectives of young people and cultivate their capabilities as global citizens through continued international exchange."

Next February, young people from Uiwang will visit Hai Chau District, Da Nang, Vietnam, where they will stay with local families, learn about Vietnamese culture, and continue their friendship.
