안양시 석수동 삼성산 경로당에서 진행된 예술교육 프로그램 ‘늦가을에 예술을 입다’가 11월 28일 마무리됐다.

이번 프로그램은 경기문화재단의 ‘경기문화예술교육 신진 성장지원사업(난생처음 꿈.지)’에 선정된 양영선 작가가 10월 10일부터 총 8회에 걸쳐 운영했다.

수업은 이름, 노래, 추억, 자연, 책 등 일상 속 소재를 활용해 개인의 감정과 경험을 표현해보는 방식으로 진행됐다.

어르신들은 매 회차 다양한 창작 활동에 참여하며 평소 접하기 어려웠던 예술 활동을 직접 체험했다.

특히 마지막 회차에서는 그동안 만든 작품을 함께 살펴보는 공유회가 열려, 참여자들은 서로의 결과물을 나누며 수업을 마무리했다.

어르신들은 “예술이 어렵게 느껴졌지만, 직접 표현해보니 새로운 경험이 됐다”, “내가 만든 작품을 소개할 수 있어 의미 있었다”고 소감을 전했다.

양영선 작가는 “지역 어르신들과 예술 활동을 나눌 수 있어 뜻깊었다”며, “예술 경험이 일상 속 작은 활력이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

이번 프로그램은 경로당을 중심으로 한 지역 예술교육의 새로운 시도로, 어르신들의 정서적 활동 참여를 넓히는 계기가 됐다는 평가를 받았다.

Artist Yang Young-sun Conducts 8 Sessions of Art Education for Seniors

The art education program "Wearing Art in Late Autumn," held at the Samsungsan Senior Center in Seoksu-dong, Anyang City, concluded on November 28th.

Artist Yang Young-sun, selected for the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation's "Gyeonggi Arts and Culture Education Emerging Growth Support Project (My First Dream in Life)," ran the program for a total of eight sessions, beginning on October 10th.

The classes focused on expressing personal emotions and experiences using everyday materials such as names, songs, memories, nature, and books.

The seniors participated in a variety of creative activities during each session, experiencing firsthand art activities they might not normally have access to.

The final session featured a sharing session where participants shared their work, concluding the program with a presentation. The seniors shared their thoughts: "Art felt difficult, but expressing myself became a new experience," and "It was meaningful to be able to share my work."

Artist Yang Young-seon said, "It was meaningful to share my artistic activities with local seniors," adding, "I hope that artistic experiences can provide a small boost of energy in everyday life."

This program, a new initiative in local arts education centered around senior centers, was recognized for broadening seniors' emotional engagement.
