 의왕시 청소년들이 아름다운 화음과 창의적인 무대로 경기도 전역의 청소년들이 모인 합창대회에서 당당히 시상대 가장 높은 곳에 올랐다.

의왕시청소년재단 산하 의왕시청소년수련관 청소년방과후아카데미는 지난 13일 과천시민회관 대극장에서 개최된 ‘2026 경기도 청소년합창대회 방과후 칸타빌레’에서 대상인 여성가족부장관상을 수상했다고 16일 밝혔다.

이와 함께 청소년들의 재능을 발굴하고 헌신적으로 화합을 이끈 청소년방과후아카데미 이숙자 팀장이 우수지도자로 선정돼 경기도지사 상을 수상하는 겹경사를 맞았다.

이번 대회의 부제인 ‘방과후 칸타빌레’는 청소년방과후아카데미 운영 20주년을 기념해 마련됐다. 지난 20년간 청소년들의 든든한 성장 디딤돌 역할을 해온 방과후아카데미의 발자취를 돌아보는 뜻깊은 자리로 기획됐으며, 도내 14개 기관에서 500여 명의 청소년들이 참가해 ‘하모니·연대’를 주제로 열띤 경연을 펼쳤다.

이번 경연에서 의왕 방과후아카데미 청소년들은 주제곡인 ‘흰수염 고래’를 수화와 아카펠라를 접목한 독창적인 형태로 표현해 관객들에게 깊은 울림을 선사했다. 이어진 자유곡 무대에서는 대중에게 친숙한 ‘네모의 꿈’을 한 편의 짜임새 있는 뮤지컬 형식으로 연출하며 가창력과 무대 장악력을 동시에 증명해 심사위원들의 호평을 받았다.

현장에서 자녀들의 무대를 지켜본 한 학부모는 “아이들이 무대 위에서 하나의 목소리로 노래하는 모습을 보는 내내 가슴이 뭉클하고 큰 감동을 받았다”라며 “어린 청소년들을 사랑과 열정으로 지도해 주신 선생님들과 힘든 연습을 이겨내고 멋진 무대를 보여준 아이들이 대견하다”고 소감을 말했다.

우수지도자상을 받은 이숙자 팀장은 “이번 대상 수상은 우리 청소년들이 서로를 배려하고 협동심을 발휘해 만들어 낸 가장 값진 성과”라며 “앞으로도 지역 청소년들이 음악을 비롯한 다채로운 문화·예술 활동을 경험하며 건강하고 밝게 성장할 수 있도록 아낌없이 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Youth After-School Academy of the Uiwang City Youth Training Center, under the Uiwang City Youth Foundation, announced on the 16th that it won the Grand Prize, the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award, at the ‘2026 Gyeonggi Province Youth Choral Competition After-School Cantabile,’ held on the 13th at the Grand Theater of the Gwacheon Civic Center.
