경기도교육청이 민선 6기 제1호 정책인 ‘폰 프리 스쿨(Phone Free School)’의 본격적인 확산을 위해 MBC와 업무협약을 체결했다.

도교육청은 1일 조원청사에서 안민석 교육감과 안형준 MBC 대표이사 등이 참석한 가운데 ‘폰 프리 스쿨’ 캠페인 공동 추진을 위한 협약식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 학생들이 교육활동과 무관한 스마트폰 사용을 줄이고 배움과 또래 관계에 집중할 수 있는 학교문화를 조성하기 위해 마련됐다. 양 기관은 캠페인 기획과 제작, 교육 콘텐츠 개발, 홍보 활동 등을 공동으로 추진하며 사회적 공감대 확산에 협력하기로 했다.

협약에 따라 MBC는 TV와 라디오, 유튜브 등 다양한 방송·디지털 플랫폼을 활용해 캠페인 콘텐츠를 제작·송출하고, 도교육청은 도내 학교와 교육기관 네트워크를 통해 캠페인을 현장에 확산시킬 계획이다. 교육 전문가 자문과 교육자료 개발도 함께 추진한다.

‘폰 프리 스쿨’은 스마트기기 사용을 일률적으로 제한하는 데 목적을 둔 정책이 아니라 학생들이 독서와 토론, 문화예술, 스포츠 활동에 더욱 몰입할 수 있는 교육환경을 조성하는 것이 핵심이다.

도교육청은 이를 경기 LAS(Literacy·Arts·Sports, 문해력·문화예술·스포츠) 교육과 연계해 학생들의 전인적 성장과 학교 교육력 회복을 지원한다는 방침이다.

안민석 교육감은 “폰 프리 스쿨은 스마트폰을 금지하는 정책이 아니라 학생들이 책을 읽고 친구들과 소통하며 예술과 스포츠를 즐기는 학교문화를 만들어가는 정책”이라며 “MBC의 미디어 역량과 교육청의 학교 네트워크를 결합해 교육공동체가 함께 공감하는 캠페인으로 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 말했다.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has signed a business agreement with MBC to fully expand the ‘Phone Free School,’ the first policy of the 6th popularly elected administration.

The Office of Education announced that it held a signing ceremony for the joint promotion of the ‘Phone Free School’ campaign at its Jowon office building on the 1st, attended by Superintendent Ahn Min-seok and MBC CEO Ahn Hyung-jun.

This agreement was established to foster a school culture where students can reduce smartphone use unrelated to educational activities and focus on learning and peer relationships. Both organizations agreed to cooperate in expanding social consensus by jointly planning and producing the campaign, developing educational content, and conducting promotional activities.

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Partners with MBC to Expand ‘Phone Free School’ Under the agreement, MBC plans to produce and broadcast campaign content using various broadcasting and digital platforms, including TV, radio, and YouTube, while the Provincial Office of Education plans to expand the campaign to the field through its network of schools and educational institutions within the province.
