안양윌스기념병원이 인공지능(AI) 기반 최신 MRI 장비를 도입하며 척추·관절 질환의 정밀진단 역량을 한층 강화했다.

보건복지부 지정 척추전문병원인 안양윌스기념병원(병원장 이동찬)은 AI 딥러닝 기반 MRI 장비인 'SIGNA Works Explorer 1.5T'를 도입했다고 7일 밝혔다.

MRI는 자기장과 고주파를 이용해 인체 내부를 영상화하는 검사 장비로, 방사선 노출 없이 뇌와 척추, 관절, 근육, 인대 등 다양한 부위를 정밀하게 검사할 수 있다. 특히 척추와 관절 질환에서는 병변의 위치와 신경 압박 정도, 연부조직 상태를 정확하게 확인하는 핵심 진단 장비다.

이번에 도입한 SIGNA Works Explorer 1.5T는 AI 딥러닝 영상 재구성 기술을 적용해 기존 MRI보다 더욱 선명한 영상을 제공하면서도 검사 시간을 단축할 수 있는 것이 특징이다. 의료진은 향상된 영상 정보를 바탕으로 보다 정확한 진단과 치료계획을 수립할 수 있고, 환자는 검사 시간을 줄여 장시간 누워 있어야 하는 부담을 덜 수 있다.

병원 측은 이번 장비 도입으로 척추·관절 질환의 진단 정확도와 검사 효율성이 향상될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 특히 고령 환자와 소아 환자, 통증으로 장시간 자세 유지가 어려운 환자들에게 보다 편안한 검사 환경을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 전망했다.

이동찬 병원장은 "정확한 진단은 성공적인 치료의 출발점이자 환자 안전을 지키는 가장 중요한 과정"이라며 "AI 기반 최신 MRI 장비 도입을 통해 환자들이 더욱 빠르고 정확한 검사를 받을 수 있는 환경을 마련했다"고 말했다.

이어 "앞으로도 안양윌스기념병원은 척추전문병원으로서 진단부터 치료, 재활까지 이어지는 전 과정에서 환자 중심 의료서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 의료 인프라와 진료 시스템을 지속적으로 고도화해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
