이번 대회는 경기도 내 31개 시·군의 우수 방범 사례를 발굴하고 공유하기 위해 마련됐다. 안양시는 철저한 사전 서면 심사를 거쳐 이천시, 동두천시와 함께 최종 본선에 올랐으며, 지난 7일부터 8일까지 화성시 호텔 푸르미르에서 열린 현장 발표 대회에서 심사위원들의 압도적인 호평을 받으며 최종 1위의 영예를 안았다.
