과천시가 증가하는 하수처리 수요에 선제적으로 대응하고 노후 시설을 현대화하기 위한 공공하수처리시설 현대화 사업의 실시설계에 본격 착수했다.

과천시는 지난 15일 시청 제1회의실에서 신계용 시장을 비롯해 관계 공무원, 한국환경공단, 금호건설㈜ 컨소시엄 관계자 등이 참석한 가운데 공공하수처리시설 현대화 사업 실시설계 착수보고회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 보고회에서는 기본설계 내용을 재점검하고 실시설계 추진 일정과 주요 과제를 공유했으며, 성공적인 사업 추진을 위한 기술적 검토와 사업 완성도 제고 방안에 대해 의견을 나눴다.

공공하수처리시설 현대화 사업은 과천과천 공공주택지구 조성과 재건축 사업 등으로 늘어나는 하수처리 수요에 대응하고, 노후화된 기존 시설을 친환경 첨단시설로 개선하기 위한 과천시의 핵심 기반시설 사업이다.

과천시는 지난 2022년 사업부지를 확정한 이후 기본계획 수립과 입찰 절차를 진행했으며, 올해 6월 금호건설㈜ 컨소시엄을 실시설계 적격자로 선정했다. 이번 착수보고회를 계기로 실시설계가 본격 추진된다.

새롭게 건립되는 공공하수처리시설은 과천동 555-2 일원에 하루 6만 톤 처리 규모로 조성된다. 하수처리시설과 통합바이오가스화시설, 하수처리수 재이용시설 등 주요 시설은 모두 지하에 배치하고, 상부 공간은 시민들이 이용할 수 있는 공원으로 조성해 친환경 복합공간으로 활용할 계획이다.
