민선 9기 출범 20일을 맞은 추미애 경기도지사가 첫 교통공약으로 '경기편하G버스' 확대 계획을 내놓았다. 도민 제안을 반영해 신규 노선 5개를 우선 신설하고, 오는 2030년까지 운행 횟수를 현재의 두 배 이상으로 늘려 수도권 출퇴근 교통체계를 개선하겠다는 구상이다.

추 지사는 20일 성남시 판교역 동편 정류소에서 기자회견을 열고 평택·양주·화성(2개)·의왕을 잇는 경기편하G버스 신규 노선 5개를 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 신설되는 노선은 ▲평택 화양지구~서울 교대역 ▲양주 회천·옥정신도시~서울 강변역 ▲화성 신동·목동~판교2테크노밸리 ▲화성 병점·태안3지구~판교2테크노밸리 ▲의왕 내손동~성남 서현역이다. 이 가운데 평택과 양주 노선은 서울을 연결하는 광역노선이며, 화성과 의왕 노선은 도내 주요 거점을 잇는 노선이다.

추 지사는 이번 노선 선정이 도민 제안에서 출발했다고 설명했다.

그는 “경기준비위원회에 접수된 노선 확대 제안을 하나하나 검토하고 시·군 긴급 수요조사를 실시한 결과, 주민들의 이용 수요가 높고 노선 신설이 시급한 지역을 우선 선정했다”고 밝혔다.

추 지사는 “현재 하루 84회에 불과한 경기편하G버스 운행을 올해 하반기 92회, 2027년 122회, 2028년 152회를 거쳐 2030년에는 하루 184회까지 확대하겠다”며 “도지사의 이름을 걸고 책임 있게 추진하겠다”고 강조했다.

경기도는 지난 6월 경기준비위원회 홈페이지를 통해 경기편하G버스 노선 제안을 접수한 결과 모두 1,503건의 의견을 받았다. 이후 시·군 수요조사와 사업성 검토를 거쳐 9개 시·군 10개 후보 노선 가운데 우선 추진이 가능한 4개 시·군 5개 노선을 최종 선정했다.

The plan envisions improving the commuter transportation system in the metropolitan area by first establishing five new routes reflecting suggestions from residents and increasing the number of trips to more than double the current level by 2030.
