국제라이온스협회 354-B지구 제7지역이 새로운 지도부 출범과 함께 지역사회 봉사의 새로운 도약을 선언했다.

국제라이온스협회 354-B지구 제7지역은 지난 22일 안양중부새마을금고에서 '2026~2027 회기 제7지역 임원 월례회'와 '최성배 총재 지역 방문', '제7지역 부총재 이·취임식'을 잇달아 개최하고 새 회기 운영 방향과 봉사 비전을 공유했다.

이날 전체 행사는 임원 월례회, 지구 총재 지역 방문, 제7지역 부총재 이·취임식으로 진행됐으며, 국제라이온스협회 354-B지구 최성배 총재를 비롯해 1부총재 이재덕, 2부총재 김상돈, 김상철, 조성현 전 총재, 각 지구 임원과 제7지역 9개 클럽 회장단 및 회원들이 참석해 새 회기의 출발을 함께 축하했다.

먼저 열린 임원 월례회에서는 2026~2027 회기 지역 예산과 사업계획을 심의·의결하고 세계대회와 연차대회, 지구 임원 연수회 등 주요 사업 추진계획을 논의했다. 이어 총무와 재무 보고를 통해 회기 운영 방향을 공유하며 조직의 결속을 다졌다.

이어 열린 최성배 총재의 제7지역 방문 행사에서는 안양, 안양청우, 안양관악, 안양촛불, 평촌, 과천, 안양동안, 과천별양, 평촌새움 등 9개 클럽이 봉사계획과 중점사업을 발표하며 지역사회 공헌 활동을 보고했다.

행사에서는 LCIF(국제라이온스재단) 기금과 지구발전기금 기탁식도 함께 진행돼 국제적 봉사와 지역사회 발전을 위한 나눔 실천 의지를 다시 한번 확인했다.

최성배 총재는 강평을 통해 "라이온스의 진정한 가치는 봉사의 현장에서 드러난다"며 "354-B지구의 회기 주제인 '열정적인 봉사, 행복한 동행'처럼 회원 모두가 서로를 격려하며 지역사회의 어려운 이웃에게 희망을 전하는 봉사에 앞장서 달라"고 당부했다.

이어 안양청우회장 이정열 라이온의 사회로 진행된 이·취임식에서는 조현철 부총재가 이임하고 한상익 부총재가 제7지역을 새롭게 이끌게 됐다. 지역기 이양과 추대패 전달, 감사장 수여가 이어지며 지난 회기 봉사에 대한 감사와 새로운 출발을 축하하는 시간이 마련됐다.

이임하는 조현철 부총재는 "회원 여러분의 헌신과 협력이 있었기에 지난 회기를 무사히 마칠 수 있었다"며 "앞으로도 제7지역이 더욱 단합해 지역사회에 희망을 전하는 봉사조직으로 성장하길 바란다"고 말했다.

취임한 한상익 부총재는 회기 주제인 '화합과 공감'을 제시하며 "봉사는 혼자 하는 일이 아니라 함께 만들어 가는 가치"라며 "회원 간 화합과 소통을 바탕으로 지역사회가 필요로 하는 곳이라면 언제든 달려가는 제7지역을 만들겠다"고 밝혔다.

또 "9개 클럽이 서로의 경험과 역량을 나누며 하나의 팀으로 성장할 때 봉사의 힘도 더욱 커질 것"이라며 "지역사회와 공감하고 어려운 이웃의 목소리에 귀 기울이는 실천 중심의 라이온스 활동을 펼쳐 나가겠다"고 강조했다.

최성배 총재도 축사를 통해 "봉사는 작은 실천에서 시작되지만 그 울림은 지역사회를 변화시키는 큰 힘이 된다"며 "제7지역이 회원 간 화합을 바탕으로 354-B지구를 대표하는 모범 지역으로 성장해 달라"고 격려했다.

최성배 총재의 제7지역 방문에 맞춰 제출한 <클럽현황보고서>에 따르면 국제라이온스협회는 현재 전 세계 215개 국가에서 5만303개 클럽, 약 135만8천 명의 회원이 활동하는 대규모의 봉사단체다. 국내에는 21개 지구, 2,009개 클럽, 6만4천여 명의 회원이 활동하고 있으며, 354-B지구는 14개 지역, 31개 지대, 151개 클럽, 4,938명의 회원이 지역사회 봉사에 참여하고 있다. 제7지역은 9개 클럽, 225명의 회원이 활동하며 안양과 과천 지역을 중심으로 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 펼치고 있다.

이날 행사에서는 국제라이온스재단(LCIF) 기금과 지구발전기금 전달식도 함께 진행됐다. LCIF 기금에는 조성현 전 총재가 1만 달러를 기탁했으며, 한상익 제7지역 부총재가 2천 달러를, 심미숙 연구원교수·자문위원과 김초원 의전수석부총장, 박관철 안양라이온스클럽 회장, 해소미 안양동안라이온스클럽 회장, 윤정은 제2지대위원장이 각각 1천 달러를 기부했다. 또한 평촌라이온스클럽이 5천200달러, 안양동안라이온스클럽과 안양촛불라이온스클럽이 각각 1천 달러를 기탁하며 나눔에 동참했다.
