안양시청소년재단(이사장 최대호)이 지난 11일 만안청소년수련관 도담소극장에서 자치조직 청소년 70여 명이 참여한 가운데 ‘경이로운 청소년 DAY’를 개최했다.

‘경이로운 청소년 DAY’는 청소년들이 재단의 정책과 사업에 대한 아이디어를 직접 제안하는 참여형 정책 플랫폼으로, 2022년 시작해 올해로 다섯 번째를 맞았다.

이번 행사는 지난 4월 자치조직 청소년들이 함께한 ‘ESG 청소년활동 선언문’ 선포와 친환경 체육대회에 이어 청소년 주도의 ESG 활동을 확대하기 위해 마련됐다. ‘청소년이 제안하는 내일을 바꾸는 ESG 캠페인’을 주제로 청소년들이 직접 아이디어를 발굴하고 실천방안을 구체화했다.

행사는 ▲청소년 눈높이에 맞춘 ESG 전문교육 ‘이(E)렇게 사(S)는 지구(G)’ ▲ESG 유형검사를 활용한 ‘나의 ESG 유형 알아보기’ ▲조별 ESG 캠페인 기획 ▲청소년 제안 발표 및 현장 공감투표 순으로 진행됐다.

청소년들은 조별 토의를 통해 환경(E)·사회(S)·지배구조(G)를 청소년 활동과 일상에 접목할 수 있는 다양한 아이디어를 발굴하고 이를 ESG 캠페인으로 제안했다. 단순한 교육을 넘어 청소년 스스로 실천 방법을 고민하고 구체적인 정책·활동 제안으로 발전시켰다는 점에서 의미를 더했다.

이날 제안된 아이디어는 향후 재단의 자치조직 연합 ESG 활동과 관련 사업을 기획할 때 참고자료로 활용되며, 실제 청소년 활동으로 이어질 수 있도록 지속적으로 검토할 예정이다.

The Anyang City Youth Foundation (Chairman Choi Dae-ho) held ‘Wonderful Youth DAY’ on the 11th at the Dodam Small Theater in the Manan Youth Training Center, with the participation of approximately 70 youths from autonomous organizations.

‘Wonderful Youth DAY’ is a participatory policy platform where youths directly propose ideas regarding the Foundation’s policies and projects; launched in 2022, this year marks its fifth edition.

This event was organized to expand youth-led ESG activities, following the proclamation of the ‘ESG Youth Activity Declaration’ and the eco-friendly sports day held last April by youths from autonomous organizations. Under the theme of the ‘ESG Campaign to Change Tomorrow Proposed by Youth,’ the youths personally discovered ideas and concretized implementation plans. The event proceeded in the following order: specialized ESG education tailored to youth perspectives titled "Living on Earth Like This"; "Discovering My ESG Type" utilizing an ESG type test; group planning of ESG campaigns; and presentations of youth proposals followed by an on-site vote.

Through group discussions, the youth discovered various ideas to integrate Environment (E), Society (S), and Governance (G) into youth activities and daily life, and proposed these as ESG campaigns. The event held added significance as it went beyond simple education, allowing the youth themselves to contemplate practical methods and develop them into concrete policy and activity proposals.

The ideas proposed on this day will be used as reference materials when planning future ESG activities and related projects for the Foundation's autonomous organization coalition, and will be continuously reviewed to ensure they lead to actual youth activities.

Ahn Byung-il, CEO of the Anyang City Youth Foundation, stated, "We will listen attentively to the voices of the youth so that the small ideas presented today can lead to new ESG activities for the Foundation," adding, "We will further expand opportunities for youth to participate as active agents in policies and activities."
