안양 동안고등학교 학생들이 이어도의 가치와 해양주권의 의미를 영상과 카드뉴스 등 다양한 콘텐츠로 표현하며 해양 영토에 대한 관심을 높였다.

동안고등학교(교장 도숙영)는 1일 ‘이어도와 함께하는 해양주권 콘텐츠 활동’을 마무리하고 우수 작품을 선정해 시상했다.

이번 활동은 학생들이 이어도의 역사적·지리적 가치와 해양주권의 의미를 스스로 탐구하고 이를 창의적인 콘텐츠로 표현하도록 마련됐다. 학생들은 동영상과 포스터, 카드뉴스 등을 직접 기획·제작하며 단순한 지식 습득을 넘어 자신만의 방식으로 주제를 풀어냈다.

대상을 받은 학생은 ‘보이지 않아도 대한민국입니다’라는 문구를 내세운 영상을 제작해 눈에 보이지 않는 해양 영토에 대한 관심과 이어도의 의미를 효과적으로 전달했다는 평가를 받았다.

학교 측은 이번 활동이 학생들에게 해양주권을 교과서 속 지식이 아닌 스스로 생각하고 표현하는 주제로 받아들이는 계기가 됐다고 설명했다.

도숙영 교장은 “학생들이 콘텐츠를 직접 기획하고 제작하면서 이어도의 가치와 해양주권의 중요성을 스스로 생각해보는 의미 있는 경험을 했다”며 “앞으로도 해양 영토 수호 의식을 키울 수 있는 교육을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

Students at Anyang Dongan High School have raised awareness regarding maritime territory by expressing the value of Ieodo and the significance of maritime sovereignty through various forms of content, such as videos and card news.

On the 1st, Dongan High School (Principal Do Sook-young) concluded its "Maritime Sovereignty Content Activity featuring Ieodo" and awarded prizes to the best entries.

This activity was designed to encourage students to independently explore the historical and geographical value of Ieodo and the meaning of maritime sovereignty, and to express these concepts through creative content. By planning and producing materials like videos, posters, and card news themselves, the students interpreted the subject matter in their own unique ways, going beyond mere rote learning.

The Grand Prize winner produced a video featuring the slogan "Even if unseen, it is the Republic of Korea," earning praise for effectively conveying the significance of Ieodo and fostering interest in maritime territory that lies beneath the surface.

The school explained that this activity served as an opportunity for students to view maritime sovereignty not merely as textbook knowledge, but as a topic they could contemplate and express for themselves.

Principal Do Sook-young stated, "By planning and creating content themselves, the students had a meaningful experience reflecting on the value of Ieodo and the importance of maritime sovereignty." She added, "We will continue to provide education that fosters a commitment to safeguarding our maritime territory."
