Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Superintendent An Min-suk Attends 19th Anniversary Ceremony of the Sunfull Movement

Commitment Made to Implement the Movement in Gyeonggi Schools Following a Nationwide Declaration to Eradicate AI Deepfakes and Malicious Comments

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Superintendent An Min-suk attended a nationwide declaration ceremony aimed at addressing online human rights violations—such as AI deepfakes, malicious comments, and group bullying—and expressed his commitment to implementing the "Sunfull Movement" (a campaign promoting positive online comments) within schools.

On the 9th, Superintendent An attended the "Nationwide Declaration Ceremony to Eradicate AI Deepfakes and Malicious Comments," held in Seoul to mark the 19th anniversary of the Sunfull Movement. The event was jointly organized by the Sunfull Foundation, the National Assembly Sunfull Committee, and the National Sunfull Teachers' Council, with participation from lawmakers, ambassadors to South Korea, teachers, and youth.

Attendees watched a documentary featuring cases of harm caused by malicious comments and group bullying and listened to celebrities share their own experiences as victims. They then recited the "K-Respect Declaration," pledging to prevent harm caused by AI-generated deepfakes, malicious comments, and hate speech.

The event also included an appointment ceremony for "2026 Sunfull Human Rights Ambassadors" and a call for the official designation of a "Sunfull Day."

Launched in 2007, the Sunfull Movement has grown significantly, generating over 10 million positive comments and engaging approximately 849,000 participants. Recently, as issues like AI-generated deepfakes and online group bullying have emerged as new social problems, the importance of digital citizenship education for youth has also increased.

Superintendent An stated, "Actively promoting the Sunfull Movement within Gyeonggi education will yield significant results," adding, "The entire Gyeonggi education community will actively participate in the movement to help students grow into digital citizens who practice respect and consideration."
