Anyang Talent Development Foundation Hosts 8th Student Creative Science Competition
Event to be held Oct. 13–14 at Anyang Sports Complex Ice Rink; 26 teams from elementary, middle, and high schools participating
The Anyang Talent Development Foundation (Chairman Choi Dae-ho) announced that it will host the "8th Anyang Student Creative Science Competition" on October 13–14 in the first-floor lobby of the Anyang Sports Complex Ice Rink. A total of 26 teams comprising elementary, middle, and high school students will participate in the event.
Held in conjunction with the 11th Anyang Career Festival, this competition provides a platform for students to propose solutions to issues related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria by utilizing coding and artificial intelligence (AI) skills acquired through the "2026 Anyang Creative Convergence Future Talent Cultivation Project."
Based on project proposals submitted by 45 teams and the results of preliminary mentoring, the Foundation selected the 26 finalists on September 23, evaluating criteria such as thematic relevance, creativity, problem-solving ability, and collaboration. The participating teams are divided into three categories: 9 elementary, 11 middle, and 6 high school teams.
Finalist teams will receive two mentoring sessions—each lasting two hours—between September 28 and October 10 to help them refine and concretize the ideas conceived during the preliminary round.
The specific challenges for each category are: "Coding projects for the socially vulnerable" (elementary), "Autonomous driving focused on traffic safety" (middle), and "Creating ESG-themed web pages using AI" (high school). The finals will take place on October 13, with the middle and high school divisions competing at 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively, and the elementary school division competing on October 14 at 9:30 a.m. A joint awards ceremony will be held on October 14 at 3:10 p.m. at the auxiliary gymnasium of Anyang Sports Complex.
Chairman Choi Dae-ho stated, "I hope students will cultivate creativity and collaborative skills by using the techniques they have learned to solve problems in their communities," adding, "We will provide support to help students' ideas evolve into tangible outcomes and expand educational opportunities for the talents of the future."
