Assemblymember Lee Chae-myung Calls for Greater Effectiveness in Women and Family Policy Research Review of Gyeonggi Women & Family Foundation: Emphasis on Reflecting Local Needs, AI-Integrated Gender-Sensitive Policy, and Management Evaluation
Assemblymember Lee Chae-myung of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly’s Women, Family, and Lifelong Education Committee has urged the Gyeonggi Women & Family Foundation to ensure its policy research translates into actual policies and tangible changes in the lives of residents. She called for research projects to better reflect the on-the-ground needs of cities and counties and for strengthened management practices.
On September 29, Assemblymember Lee visited the Foundation to receive a briefing on key operations for 2026 and to review the status of policy research, the incorporation of local needs, AI-related research, and the management evaluation improvement system.
Pointing out that only two of the Foundation’s 34 internal research projects this year reflected policy demands from cities and counties, Assemblymember Lee demanded an expansion of research that addresses regional needs regarding women, families, and caregiving. She also emphasized the need to integrate a gender-sensitive perspective into AI-related research and to develop a collaborative system involving departments and agencies across the province.
Regarding management evaluation, she stressed the importance of continuous monitoring and an effective monthly review system for quantitative indicators, such as the mandatory employment rate for persons with disabilities, preferential purchasing performance, and RE100 compliance. The Foundation explained that it has established a management evaluation task force (TF) and is operating a monthly management system led by staff responsible for specific indicators.
"The Foundation fulfills its role when its research is reflected in policy and residents can tangibly feel changes in their lives," Assemblymember Lee said. "I will closely monitor the integration of research outcomes into policy, efforts to address gaps in care services, and the implementation of management evaluation improvements during the administrative audit and budget review processes."
