경기도의회 김미숙 부의장(더불어민주당, 군포3)이 지난달 29일 열린 ‘KT와 함께하는 제26회 경기도장애인 IT 페스티벌’에 참석해 장애인의 디지털 역량 강화와 정보격차 해소를 위한 지속적인 관심과 지원을 강조했다.

경기도장애인재활협회가 주최·주관하고 KT 수도권강남고객본부와 경기도교육청이 후원한 이번 행사는 장애인들이 IT·디지털 기술을 직접 체험하고 활용하며 자신의 역량을 발휘할 수 있도록 마련됐다.

이날 행사에는 김미숙 부의장을 비롯해 이영재 경기도장애인재활협회장과 관계자, 참가자 및 가족 등이 참석해 참가자들을 격려했다. IT 분야에서 꾸준히 노력하고 성과를 거둔 참가자들에게는 경기도지사상과 경기도의회 의장상 등이 수여됐다.

김 부의장은 축사에서 “IT와 디지털 기술이 일상에서 중요한 역할을 하는 만큼, 누구나 차별 없이 기술을 누릴 수 있어야 한다”며 “이번 페스티벌이 장애인들이 디지털 기술을 통해 세상과 소통하고 자신의 가능성을 발견하는 기회가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

이어 “참가자들의 도전과 노력이 또 다른 누군가에게 용기를 주고 우리 사회의 변화를 이끄는 출발점이 될 것”이라며 수상자와 참가자들을 격려했다.

김 부의장은 “26년간 장애인 IT 페스티벌을 이어온 경기도장애인재활협회와 관계자들에게 감사드린다”며 “장애인들이 디지털 기술을 통해 더 많은 기회를 얻고 역량을 펼칠 수 있도록 지속적인 관심과 지원이 이어지길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

Emphasizing the strengthening of digital capabilities and bridging the digital divide at the 26th Gyeonggi Disability IT Festival

Kim Mi-sook, Vice Chair of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea, Gunpo-3), attended the "26th Gyeonggi Disability IT Festival with KT" on the 29th of last month. She emphasized the need for continued interest and support to strengthen the digital capabilities of people with disabilities and to bridge the digital divide.

Hosted and organized by the Gyeonggi Association for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled—and sponsored by KT’s Seoul Metropolitan Gangnam Customer Headquarters and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education—the event was designed to allow people with disabilities to experience and utilize IT and digital technologies firsthand and to showcase their capabilities.

Attendees included Vice Chair Kim Mi-sook, Lee Young-jae (President of the Gyeonggi Association for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled), officials, participants, and their families, all of whom gathered to encourage the participants. Awards, including the Gyeonggi Provincial Governor’s Award and the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Chair’s Award, were presented to participants who had demonstrated consistent effort and achievement in the IT field.

In her congratulatory remarks, Vice Chair Kim stated, "As IT and digital technologies play a crucial role in our daily lives, everyone should be able to enjoy these technologies without discrimination."
