경기연구원이 휴대전화 기반의 KT 빅데이터 자료를 토대로 경기도와 서울시를 대상으로 지난 2월부터 8월까지의 유동인구 변화추이를 분석한 결과 코로나19 확산으로 인해 서울로 향하는 유동인구가 대폭 감소하면서, 경기도 내 유동인구는 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 통근 및 통학 통행이 잦은 주중은 물론, 여가 통행이 잦은 주말에도 비슷한 증가치를 보였다.

경기연구원은 이 같은 내용을 담은 ‘코로나19로 인한 유동인구 변화와 시사점’을 발간했다.

1차 유행 시 경기도 내 시군 유동인구를 보면, 성남(-1.6%), 과천(-0.6%)을 제외하고는 모든 경기도 시군에서 유동인구가 증가했다.

행정동별로 살펴보면, 안양1번가(안양1동), 수원역 중심상권(매산동), 분당신도시 주요 상권(성남시 야탑1동, 서현1동, 정자1동)은 유동인구가 크게 감소하여 상권에 큰 영향을 끼쳤고, 판교테크노밸리(성남시 삼평동, 시흥동)는 코로나19로 인한 정보통신기업 주도 재택근무 영향으로 주중 유동인구가 감소했다.

렛츠런파크(과천시 과천동), 안성팜랜드(안성시 미양면), 화담숲 및 곤지암CC(광주시 도척면) 등은 주말 방문객이 급감하여 유동인구 감소 폭이 컸다.
