의왕시가 지난 8월 15일 계원예술대학교 우경아트홀에서 개최한 스페인밀레니엄합창단(지휘자 임재식) ‘Hola! 아리랑’ 공연이 시민들의 뜨거운 호응 속에서 성황을 이뤘다.

스페인 밀레니엄 합창단은 60년 역사를 가진 스페인 최고의 RTVE(스페인 국영방송) 합창단 80명의 단원 중 24명을 선발한 외국 프로 합창단으로, 단장 겸 상임 지휘자인 임재식 지휘자가 창단해 전 세계에 한국의 음악을 전파하며 스페인과 한국 문화 교류의 가교역할을 하고 있다.

78주년 광복절을 기념해 개최된 이번 공연의 1부에서는 ‘라바삐에스 이발사’, ‘프란씨스코 여사’, ‘빵과 투우’ 등 스페인 전통 가곡인 사르수엘라를 선보였다. 이어 소프라노 문경민이 스페인밀레니엄합창단과 ‘비둘기의 노래’를 협연했다.

공연 2부에서는 ‘남촌’, ‘그리운 금강산’, ‘밀양아리랑’, ‘경복궁 타령’ 등 우리 전통 가락의 아름다운 선율을 선사해 관객의 마음을 사로잡았다. 특히, 캐스터네츠 연주가인 라이얀 보르헤스 마차도씨가 경쾌한 캐스터네츠 연주와 함께 정열적인 손동작과 춤사위를 선보여 관객들의 큰 환호와 박수갈채를 받았다.

The Spanish Millennium Choir (conductor Lim Jae-sik) ‘Hola! Arirang’ performance was a success amid the enthusiastic response of the citizens.
