국회 산업통상자원중소벤처기업위원회 이재정 위원장(더불어민주당, 안양시동안구을)이 지난 9월 7일 오전 주한미국상공회의소(AMCHAM, 암참) 주최로 열린 ‘2023 암참 중소기업 협업 및 혁신 서밋’ 축사에서 “급변하는 글로벌 환경 속에서 끊임없이 변화하는 경제에 대응하기 위해서는 글로벌기업과 중소기업의 협업을 통해 시너지를 창출하고, 혁신적인 기술과 비즈니스 모델을 개발해 포용적 경제발전을 주도하고 혁신을 촉진해야 한다”고 강조했다.

이 위원장은 “협업을 통해 글로벌기업은 우수한 국내 중소기업의 기술과 혁신역량을 활용해 제품과 서비스의 품질을 향상시키고 새로운 시장을 개척할 수 있으며, 국내 중소기업은 글로벌기업의 자본, 기술, 네트워크를 활용해 글로벌시장에 진출할 교두보로 삼을 수 있다”고 말했다.

이어 “우리 기업들은 경직된 외교·정책 등 많은 부분을 선도적으로 풀어내고 있다”며, “현장의 목소리를 깊이 경청하고 제도와 정책에 반영해 기업들이 역량을 펼칠 수 있도록 최선을 다 하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

‘2023 암참 중소기업 협업 및 혁신 서밋’은 이 위원장의 축사를 비롯해 제임스 김 주한미국상공회의소 회장의 개회사, 조이 사쿠라이 주한미국대사관 부대사의 축사, 임채운 서강대학교 경영대학 명예교수의 기조연설, 신해청 다나허 코리아 회장과 유한수 HP코리아 이사의 발표에 이어, 류근우 EY한영 아시아태평양 MSGC 상무, 방주성 한국암웨이 전무, 김도환 한국 벡크만 쿨터 라이프 사이언스 총괄사장이 참여하는 패널토론을 통해 글로벌기업과 중소기업의 상생 협력에 대해 일선 현장의 경험을 나눴다.

이날 행사에는 프로그램 참여자 외에도 안철현 애플 코리아 부사장, 배수정 암웨이 대표이사, 최준호 싸이티바 대표이사, 심기봉 덴티스 대표이사, 신동현 라디오미터코리아 대표, 홍정아 법무법인 세종 선임외국변호사 등이 참석했다.
