 정윤경 경기도의회 부의장(더불어민주당, 군포1선거구)이 2월 1일 오후 4시 군포시장애인센터 다목적강당에서 출판기념회를 열고 군포시장 출마를 공식화한다고 밝혔다.

이번 출판기념회에서 정윤경 부의장은 저서 '반갑습니다. 군포시민 정윤경입니다'를 시민에게 소개한다. 이 책에는 정 부의장이 3선 도의원으로서 그동안 추진해온 안전·환경·생활 인프라 개선과 소외계층 지원 성과를 담았다. 또 논평과 보도자료, 조례 발의 과정을 소개하며 시민 중심의 복지 정책도 함께 제시하고 있다.

사실상 군포시장 출마선언의 장이 될 출판기념회에서 정윤경 부의장은 군포시 발전을 위해 시장직에 도전하겠다는 포부를 공식적으로 밝힌다고 전했다.

정 부의장은 “도의원 3선 임기동안 누구보다 앞장서 취약계층을 지원하는 의정활동을 펼쳤고, 군포시 발전을 위한 활동에 적극적으로 나서 확실하게 처리해온 만큼 시민의 목소리를 제도권 안으로 옮기기 위해 걸어온 그동안의 성과를 시민들에게 소개하고 향후 계획에 대해 군포시민들과 소통하고자 한다”며 “많은 시민들이 함께 해주시면 감사하겠다”고 말했다.

정 부의장은 또 "부족한 기록일지라도 3선 의정활동을 마무리 하며 '사람을 향한 정치는 충분히 가능하다'는 믿음을 남기고 싶었다"고 책을 내게 된 동기를 전했다. 정 부의장은 도의원 활동 외에도 더민주경기혁신회의 공동상임대표 등을 맡았다.

한편 2월 1일 일요일 오후 4시 군포시청 앞 군포시장애인센터(공영주차장 건물) 지하 다목적강당에서 열리는 출판기념회에 앞서 오후1시부터 3시까지는 식전행사로 사인회와 포토존이 운영된다.

Gyeonggi Provincial Council Vice Chairperson Jeong Yoon-kyung Announces Candidacy for Gunpo Mayor

Gyeonggi Provincial Council Vice Chairperson Jeong Yoon-kyung (Democratic Party of Korea, Gunpo District 1) announced her official candidacy for Gunpo mayor at a book launch event held at the Gunpo City Center for the Disabled multipurpose auditorium at 4 p.m. on February 1st. At the event, Jeong will introduce her book, "Nice to Meet You. I'm Jeong Yoon-kyung, a Gunpo Citizen." The book details her achievements as a three-term provincial council member, including improvements to safety, the environment, and living infrastructure, as well as support for the underprivileged. It also outlines the process of proposing ordinances, including commentary, press releases, and citizen-centered welfare policies.

At the event, which will effectively serve as her official declaration of candidacy for Gunpo mayor, Jeong will officially announce her ambition to run for mayor and contribute to the development of Gunpo.

Vice Speaker Jeong stated, "During my three-term as a provincial council member, I have been at the forefront of supporting vulnerable groups. I have actively participated in Gunpo City's development and implemented projects with tangible results. Therefore, I would like to share with the citizens my achievements in bringing their voices into the system and communicate with them about my future plans. I would be grateful if many citizens would join me."

Vice Speaker Jeong also explained his motivation for publishing the book, saying, "Even if my record is inadequate, I wanted to leave behind the belief that 'people-oriented politics is entirely possible' as I conclude my three-term legislative service." In addition to his provincial council service, Vice Speaker Jeong also served as co-chair of the Gyeonggi Innovation Association of the Democratic Party of Korea.

Meanwhile, a book launch event will be held on Sunday, February 1st, at 4 PM in the multipurpose auditorium in the basement of the Gunpo City Center for Persons with Disabilities (public parking lot building) in front of Gunpo City Hall. A pre-event will include a book signing and photo zone from 1 PM to 3 PM.
