‘Gyeonggi is an opportunity’, 5 major opportunities for Gyeonggi-do

Governor Kim Dong-yeon, who has laid the groundwork for ‘The Capital of Opportunity – Gyeonggi-do’ with 100 days of walking, is facing a new challenge.

Gyeonggi Province's five major tasks for Gyeonggi-do in the future by Governor Kim Dong-yeon are △opportunity ladder, △opportunity income, 'opportunity safety net', △opportunity power plant, and △how to build a place of opportunity.

The ‘opportunity bridge’ is a support measure from Gyeonggi Province that can bridge the gap in opportunities. The provincial government plans to provide more opportunities to young people preparing to enter society and to 4.3 million baby boomers who have been excluded from policy targets.

‘Opportunity Income’ is a concept that Governor Kim Dong-yeon recently expressed his intention to introduce through a polishing inquiry, and corresponds to a public compensation plan for creating and contributing to social values of artists and people with disabilities. Gyeonggi-do plans to specify the target and scale of support in the near future.

In an economic crisis situation, it is urgent to provide preemptive support to the vulnerable class who lack preliminary preparation for a crisis. Gyeonggi Province plans to provide tight support for social safety nets such as strengthening care for children, the elderly, and the disabled, job support, self-reliance, and support for health and medical services. In order to provide more opportunities, we need a so-called opportunity production base that can constantly create opportunities. Gyeonggi Province plans to lead Korea's innovative growth and future industries by fostering global high-tech industries such as semiconductors, future cars, bio, AI, and big data, realizing the hydrogen economy, leading the RE100, and fostering the K-content industry. .

Gyeonggi-do Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, “I was able to feel the difficulties of the residents while walking around the site for 100 days, and I became more convinced of the preciousness and urgency of opportunities. We will do our best to provide better opportunities.”
