Korean Food Day is the 105th day after the winter solstice. It is approximately April 5th in the solar calendar. In the past, Korean food was one of the four major holidays along with Lunar New Year, Dano, and Chuseok. During this period, there was an ancient Chinese custom of prohibiting the use of fire for a certain period of time and eating cold food, so Korean food is also called No-Smoking Day, Sleeping and Sleeping, and Cold Jeol. In Korean cuisine, fruits and rice cakes are prepared and ancestral rites are held at the graves of ancestors. This is also called a cold food ceremony, a cold food ancestral rite, or a cold food funeral. If an ancestor's tomb is torn down, grass is put back on it during this period, which is called 'gaesacho (改莎草)'.
