안양시 향우연합회(회장 김진수)가 지난 5월 11일 평촌중앙공원 다목적운동장에서 ‘제24회 한마음 어울마당’ 행사를 개최했다. 제주도민회, 이북5도민회, 강원도민회, 호남향우회, 충청향우회, 영남향우회 등 6개 단체 회원 600여명이 참석해 성황을 이룬 이날 행사는 식전행사로 초청가수 공연, 1부 개회식, 2부 한마음 어울마당, 3부 화합의 한마당 순으로 진행됐다.
이날 개회식은 김세환 사무총장 사회로 기수단‧선수단 입장, 이기부 전 회장의 개회선언, 김진수 회장의 대회사, 박문권 고문의 격려사, 최대호 안양시장‧최병일 안양시의회의장‧강득구‧민병덕 국회의원의 축사, 선수단 대표 선서 등의 순서로 진행됐다. 이어서 향토음식 맛자랑, 명랑운동회, 노래자랑, 행운권 추첨 등이 진행됐다.

김진수 회장은 대회사에서 “제24회 한마음어울마당 행사는 새로운 보금자리, 제2의 고향인 안양에서 우리의 전통과 문화를 지키며 더욱 발전된 모습으로 거듭나기 위한 멋진 도약의 자리”라며, “이 행사를 통해 안양시 향우협의회가 더욱 발전하고 회원 상호 간에 화합과 친목을 도모하여 지역사회 발전과 안양시 발전을 위해 노력해 주실 것을 당부한다”고 말했다.

최병일 안양시의회 의장은 “안양에서 꿈을 펼치며 지역발전을 이끌어 오신 향우협의회 가족 여러분께 깊은 감사를 드린다”며, “앞으로도 지역별 향우협의회가 더욱 화합하여 정겹고 행복한 안양을 만드는데 큰 힘이 되어주시길 당부드린다. 안양시의회에서도 항상 여러분의 곁에서 응원하며 안양시의 발전을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

강득구 국회의원은 “다시 일할 기회를 주신 안양시민, 향우회 회원 여러분께 감사드린다”며, “안양이 태어난 곳은 아닐 수 있지만 우리 아이들의 고향이고 또 우리의 삶의 중심이다. 안양이 더 살기 좋고 더 행복한 안양이 되기를 바라고 희망한다”고 말했다.
