민주평화통일자문회의 의왕시협의회가 지난 5월 21일 의왕시청 대회의실에서 자문위원, 탈북민 멘티 등 40여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2024년 2분기 정기회의’를 개최했다.

이번 정기회의는 ‘자유민주주의 통일에 대한 도전과 극복 방안’을 주제로 현 정부의 통일‧대북정책에 대한 자문위원의 이해 제고와 공감대 확산을 위한 토론 및 2024년 2분기 협의회 사업계획 등이 논의됐다.

이와 함께 민주평통 자문위원을 멘토, 탈북민을 멘티로 하는 ‘따뜻한 이웃사촌 탈북민 멘토링 멘토-멘티 결연식’을 개최해 멘티의 지역사회 적응과 미래의 통일 리더로서의 성공적인 성장을 다짐했다.

엄태원 협의회장은 “바쁜 일정에도 정기회의에 참석해주신 자문위원들께 감사드리며, 6,7월 추진되는 청소년 통일 현장 견학 및 청소년 통일 교육 두 사업의 성공적 추진을 위해 자문위원 한분 한분이 힘을 모아주시기 바란다”고 말했다.
