(사)대한노인회 의왕시지회(지회장 이종훈) 부설 아름채노인대학(학장 최인섭)이 지난 11월 26일 아름채노인복지관 1층 강당에서, 사랑채노인대학(학장 강남희)이 지난 11월 28일 내손공용청사 3층 대강당에서 2024학년도 졸업식을 개최했다.

올해 졸업생은 총 336명으로, 아름채노인대학 167명, 사랑채노인대학 169명이 모든 과정을 마쳤다.

졸업식은 박제천 수석부회장의 노인강령 낭독을 시작으로, 졸업장 및 표창장 수여, 노인대학장 회고사, 지회장 격려사, 내빈 축사 순으로 진행됐다.

제20기 아름채노인대학과 제10기 사랑채노인대학은 지난 3월 개강해 주 1회 교양, 건강관리, 문화강좌 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 어르신들의 건전한 여가 활동과 배움의 장을 제공해 왔다.

김성제 의왕시장은 축사에서 “건강하게 졸업식에 참석하신 어르신들과 수상자들에게 축하의 말씀을 전한다”며, “의왕시가 전국 최고의 노인복지 도시로서 어르신들이 더욱 활기차고 건강한 노후를 보낼 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이종훈 (사)대한노인회 의왕시지회장은 격려사에서 “평생교육을 몸소 실천하며 청년들에게 귀감이 되어주신 어르신들에게 박수를 보낸다”고 말했다.

Uiwang City Arumchae and Sarangchae Senior Colleges Hold 2024 Graduation Ceremony

Arumchae Senior College (Dean Choi In-seop), affiliated with the Uiwang City Branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association (Branch President Lee Jong-hoon), held the 2024 graduation ceremony on November 26 in the first floor auditorium of the Arumchae Senior Welfare Center, and Sarangchae Senior College (Dean Kang Nam-hee) held the 2024 graduation ceremony on November 28 in the third floor auditorium of the Naeson Public Office Building.

A total of 336 graduates this year, 167 from Arumchae Senior College and 169 from Sarangchae Senior College, completed all courses.

The graduation ceremony began with Senior Citizens’ Code reading by Senior Vice President Park Je-cheon, followed by the presentation of diplomas and certificates of commendation, a reflection from the Dean of Senior College, an encouraging speech from the Branch President, and congratulatory remarks from distinguished guests. The 20th Arumchae Senior Citizens’ University and the 10th Sarangchae Senior Citizens’ University opened in March and have been providing healthy leisure activities and learning opportunities for seniors through various programs such as liberal arts, health management, and cultural classes once a week.

In his congratulatory remarks, Mayor Kim Seong-je of Uiwang City said, “I would like to congratulate the seniors and awardees who attended the graduation ceremony in good health,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that Uiwang City becomes the best senior welfare city in the country so that seniors can enjoy more active and healthy old age.”

In his words of encouragement, Chairman Lee Jong-hoon of the Uiwang City Chapter of the Korea Senior Citizens’ Association said, “I applaud the seniors who have personally practiced lifelong education and become role models for young people.”
