김성제 의왕시장이 지난 12월 2일 열린 의왕시의회 제308회 제2차 정례회 1차 본회의에서 ‘2025년 예산안 시정연설’을 통해 올 한 해를 되돌아보고, 내년도 사업방향과 비전을 제시했다.

김성제 시장은 “2025년 예산 총 규모는 2024년 본예산 대비 512억원이 증액된 5,537억원으로 편성했다”며, “급증하고 있는 주민들의 행정 수요에 대응하고, 문화･체육･교육시설 및 도시기반시설 확충에 필요한 예산을 반영했다”고 밝혔다.

김성제 시장은 2024년 주요성과로 △의왕 오전왕곡 공공주택지구 선정 △인덕원~동탄, 월곶~판교 복선전철 착공 △GTX-C 의왕역 설치 및 운영 협약 △문화예술회관 착공 △백운호수 초‧중 통합학교 착공 등을 꼽았다.

김성제 시장은 내년도 시정 운영방향과 역점 사업으로 △고천･초평･월암･청계2지구, 의왕군포안산 3기신도시 추진, △‘의왕산업진흥원’ 설립, △인덕원~동탄, 월곶~판교 간 복선전철 사업, △GTX-C 및 3기 신도시 개발과 연계한 의왕역 복합환승센터 유치, △위례~과천선 의왕 연장, △‘내손중･고등학교’2025년 ‘백운호수 초･중통합학교’ 2026년 정상 개교, △‘의왕미래교육센터’는 내년 상반기 착공, △백운호수공원 수변공연장·다목적 잔디광장 등 조성, △왕송호수공원 3기 신도시와 연계해 특화된 공원으로 조성 등을 제시했다.

김성제 시장은 “시 발전을 위한 밑그림이 완성단계에 들어선 만큼, 현재 추진되고 있는 대규모 도시개발과 복선전철사업을 성공적으로 마무리하고, 교육과 복지, 문화예술, 일자리 등 다양한 분야에서 혁신적인 발전을 이룰 수 있도록 더욱 힘차게 뛰겠다”고 말했다.
