경기도의회 유영일(국민의힘, 안양5)의원이 지난 12월 11일 경기도의회 대회의실에서 열린 경기도일간기자단 주최 ‘2024년 우수의정·행정대상’ 시상식에서 우수의정 대상을 수상했다.

유영일 의원은 제11대 경기도의회 전반기 도시환경위원회 위원장에 이어 후반기에는 부위원장으로 활동하며 경기도민의 민생현안을 해결하고 삶의 질 향상에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 이 상을 수상했다.

유열일 의원은 어린이놀이터 발암물질 검출로 인한 불안을 해소하기 위해 지난 11월 1일 제도개선 방안 마련을 위한 토론회를 개최했다. 2024년 행정사무감사에서는 △경기도보건환경연구원의 환경유해성 안전성 검사 가이드 마련 등 적극적 역할을 촉구했고, △ 경기도와 경기도교육청이 태스크포스(TF)를 구성해 안전관리체계를 구축할 것을 제안하는 등 아이들의 안전과 건강을 지키기 위해 노력해왔다.

또한 생활숙박시설 주거사용 규제로 여러 혼란과 피해를 방지하고자 불필요한 규제 해소를 통해 경기도 생활숙박시설 지원센터 설치 및 국토부의 복도폭 및 주차장확보 기준 완화를 이끌어내는 등의 성과를 거두었다.

이밖에 유 의원은 올 한해도 날카로운 통찰력으로 경기도 기후 및 주거정책의 실효성을 점검하면서, 도지사의 치적 쌓기용 전시성 행정을 견제하고, 취약계층의 주거복지를 위한 예산삭감을 강하게 비판하는 등 도정방향을 바르게 이끄는 데 앞장섰다.

유영일 의원은 수상소감으로 “어린이놀이터 환경유해성 문제와 같이 우리의 일생생활의 안전을 위협하는 현안에 신속하고 철저하게 대응책을 강구하고자 노력했다”며 “앞으로도 도민들이 어려운 현장에 먼저 달려가 생활현장 중심의 의정활동에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Gyeonggi Provincial Assemblyman Yoo Young-il Receives Gyeonggi Daily Reporter Group Excellence in Legislation Award

Recognized for his contribution to resolving livelihood issues and improving quality of life for Gyeonggi Province residents

Gyeonggi Provincial Assemblyman Yoo Young-il (People Power Party, Anyang 5) received the Excellence in Legislation Award at the ‘2024 Excellence in Legislation and Administration Award’ hosted by the Gyeonggi Daily Reporter Group held in the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Conference Room on December 11.

Assemblyman Yoo Young-il served as the Chairperson of the Urban Environment Committee in the first half of the 11th Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly and as the Vice Chairperson in the second half, and received this award in recognition of his contribution to resolving livelihood issues and improving quality of life for Gyeonggi Province residents.

Assemblyman Yoo Yeol-il held a discussion on November 1 to establish measures to improve the system in order to relieve anxiety over the detection of carcinogens in children’s playgrounds. In the 2024 administrative audit, we have been working to protect the safety and health of children by urging the Gyeonggi Provincial Health and Environment Research Institute to play an active role, such as by establishing an environmental hazard safety inspection guide, and suggesting that Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education form a task force (TF) to establish a safety management system.

In addition, we have achieved results such as leading the establishment of the Gyeonggi Province Living Accommodation Facility Support Center and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's relaxation of the corridor width and parking lot acquisition standards by eliminating unnecessary regulations in order to prevent various confusion and damages due to regulations on residential use of living accommodation facilities.

In addition, this year, Rep. Yoo has been at the forefront of guiding the direction of provincial administration in the right direction, such as checking the effectiveness of Gyeonggi Province's climate and housing policies with keen insight, restraining the governor's showy administration for building up achievements, and strongly criticizing the budget cuts for housing welfare for the vulnerable. In his acceptance speech, Rep. Yoo Young-il said, “I have tried to swiftly and thoroughly devise countermeasures for current issues that threaten the safety of our daily lives, such as the environmental hazards of children’s playgrounds,” and “I will continue to do my best to conduct legislative activities centered on everyday life by rushing to difficult sites first for the residents.”
