김동연 경기도지사가 지난 1월 2일 오전 수원 광교호수공원 일원에서 안양농수산물 도매시장 상인 이윤근씨·안양시 공무원 윤진한씨 등 사회적 의인 9명과 그 가족 등 18명을 초청해 일출을 관람하고 떡만둣국으로 조찬을 함께 하며 격려했다.

이날 초청된 경기도의 사회적 의인은 △지난 11월말 기록적인 폭설 발생 시 신속한 초동 대응으로 시장 진입을 통제해 상인들의 안전한 대피를 유도한 안양농수산물 도매시장 상인 이윤근씨와 안양시 공무원 윤진한씨, △경부고속도로에서 전복된 차량을 발견해 위험을 무릅쓰고 탑승자 2명을 구조한 고등학생 유태경군, △헬스장에서 쓰러진 노인을 신속한 심폐소생술로 구한 간호사 구아라씨, △아파트 관리사무소 경비원의 암 투병 소식을 접하고 입주민을 대상으로 성금을 모금한 수원 영통하우스토리 입주자대표회의 등이다.

이번 행사는 2024년 한 해 동안 경기도민을 위해 생명구조, 사고예방, 이웃사랑 등을 실천해 사회의 본보기가 된 이들에게 따뜻한 식사 한끼를 대접하고, 행복한 2025년을 기원하자는 취지에서 추진됐다.
