과천시가 1월 8일, 시청 시장실에서 춘천시, 월드푸드테크협의회와 ‘푸드테크산업 혁신 생태계 조성’을 위한 3자 간 업무협약을 체결했다.

과천시와 춘천시는 이번 협약을 토대로 농림축산식품부의 ‘푸드테크 연구지원센터 공모사업’에 공동으로 지원한다. 개인맞춤형식품 개발과 지역 내 푸드테크산업 활성화를 목표로, 월드푸드테크협의회의 전문성을 결합해 최적의 제안서를 마련할 예정이다.

농림축산식품부의 ‘푸드테크 연구지원센터 공모사업’은 총 사업비 규모가 105억 원으로 국비와 지방비가 5:5로 투입되는 사업이다. 사업에 선정될 경우 과천시와 춘천시는 연구지원센터의 시설·장비 및 기술실증을 위해 3년간 26.25억 원을 각각 국비로 지원받으며, 지방비 26.25억 원을 투입하게 된다.

이번 협약식에는 신계용 과천시장, 육동한 춘천시장, 이기원 월드푸드테크협의회장이 참석했다.

협약에 따라 과천시는 우수 인력 확보에 유리한 지리적 이점을 토대로 서울대학교 산학협력단과 함께 인공지능 기반의 플랫폼 및 데이터 구축, 알고리즘 개발 등의 서비스 기반 구축을 담당한다. 춘천시는 춘천바이오산업진흥원과 함께 제조기술 실증 및 제품 생산 등 첨단제조시설 구축 및 운영을 담당한다. 두 도시는 협력으로 연구, 제조, 생산 전반에 걸친 통합적인 혁신 모델을 제시하고자 한다.

육동한 춘천시장은 “푸드테크를 기반으로 한 농업생태계 조성을 위해 모든 역량을 동원할 것”이라며, “이번 협약이 지역과 국가의 푸드테크산업 혁신을 가져올 것이라 기대한다”고 말했다.

신계용 과천시장은 “이번 협약은 푸드테크 연구지원센터 공모사업의 성공 가능성을 높이고, 국내 푸드테크산업 기술의 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화할 수 있는 계기가 될 것”이라며, “두 지역의 자원과 월드푸드테크협의회의 네트워크를 십분 활용하여 지속가능한 푸드테크산업 생태계를 조성해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

과천시는 지역의 특성과 월드푸드테크협의회의 전문성을 활용하여 푸드테크산업 육성을 위한 경쟁력을 강화하고, 지속 가능한 성장 기반 마련에 총력을 기울여나갈 방침이다.

On January 8, Gwacheon City signed a three-party business agreement with Chuncheon City and World Food Tech Council for ‘Food Tech Industry Innovation Ecosystem Creation’ at the mayor’s office in the city hall.

Based on this agreement, Gwacheon City and Chuncheon City will jointly support the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ ‘Food Tech Research Support Center Competition Project’. With the goal of developing personalized foods and activating the local food tech industry, they plan to prepare an optimal proposal by combining the expertise of the World Food Tech Council.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ ‘Food Tech Research Support Center Competition Project’ is a project with a total project cost of 10.5 billion won, with national and local funds invested in a 5:5 ratio. If selected for the project, Gwacheon City and Chuncheon City will receive KRW 2.625 billion in national funds for three years for facilities, equipment, and technology verification of the research support center, and KRW 2.625 billion in local funds.

According to the agreement, Gwacheon City will be responsible for building a service base such as AI-based platform and data construction, algorithm development, etc. together with Seoul National University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation based on its geographic advantage in securing excellent human resources. Chuncheon City will be responsible for building and operating advanced manufacturing facilities such as manufacturing technology verification and product production together with Chuncheon Bioindustry Promotion Agency. The two cities aim to present an integrated innovation model covering research, manufacturing, and production through cooperation.
