더불어민주당 경기도당(위원장 김승원)이 지난 1월 23일 오후 성남시 수정구에 위치한 파미어스몰에서 도올 김용옥 선생을 초청한 을사년 시국강연회를 개최했다.

시국강연회는 도올 김용옥 선생이 1905년 을사늑약과 2025년 현재의 대한민국을 통찰하는 ‘1905년 vs 2025년’이란 주제로 진행됐다.

도올 선생은 강연에서 “1905년 을사늑약은 일제강점기 비극이 시작된 상징적인 사건으로 적법한 조약이 아니다”라며, “해방 이후 반민특위가 제대로 작동하지 못한 결과, 여전히 친일 세력이 득세하며 나라의 근본을 흔드는 일이 반복되고 있다”고 비판했다.

그는 이어서 “조선시대 찬란한 해전의 역사를 만든 이순신 장군이 있었다면, 을사늑약 당시 이순신 장군과 같은 상징성을 가진 홍범도 장군이 존재했다”며, “그런 위대한 인물을 부정하고 왜곡하는 것은 역사 의식의 부재를 드러내는 것”이라고 지적했다.

이어 내란우두머리 혐의로 검찰에 넘겨진 윤석열 대통령을 향해 “불법계엄선포에 대한 일말의 반성이 없는 인간”이라며 “역사를 알면 2025년의 대한민국이 비상식의 반복이라는 것을 깨닫게 될 것”이라고 말했다.

김승원 경기도당위원장(수원시갑)은 “을사늑약 120년 광복 80년을 맞아 우리의 역사를 제대로 알고 반성하며, 이를 바탕으로 현재의 비상식적인 상황을 극복해야 한다”며, “윤석열 내란 종식은 역사를 바로 세우고 미래를 바꾸는 첫걸음”이라고 밝혔다.

On the afternoon of January 23, the Gyeonggi-do branch of the Democratic Party of Korea (Chairman Kim Seung-won) held a lecture on current affairs by Do-ol Kim Yong-ok at the Pamiers Mall in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si.

The lecture was given under the theme of ‘1905 vs. 2025’, in which Do-ol Kim Yong-ok provided insight into the Eulsa Treaty of 1905 and the current Republic of Korea in 2025. In his lecture, Professor Do-ol criticized, “The Eulsa Treaty of 1905 is a symbolic event that started the tragedy of the Japanese colonial period, and is not a legitimate treaty,” and “As a result of the failure of the Special Committee on Anti-Japanese Activities to function properly after liberation, pro-Japanese forces are still gaining power and shaking the foundation of the country repeatedly.” He continued, “If there was General Yi Sun-sin, who created the history of brilliant naval battles in the Joseon Dynasty, there was General Hong Beom-do, who had the same symbolic value as General Yi Sun-sin at the time of the Eulsa Treaty,” and pointed out, “To deny and distort such a great figure reveals a lack of historical consciousness.” He then said of President Yoon Seok-yeol, who was handed over to the prosecution on charges of being the leader of a rebellion, “He is a person who has not reflected on the illegal declaration of martial law,” and “If you know history, you will realize that the Republic of Korea in 2025 is a repetition of absurdity.” Kim Seung-won, Gyeonggi Provincial Party Chairman (Suwon Gap), said, “As we mark the 120th anniversary of the Eulsa Treaty and the 80th anniversary of liberation, we must properly understand and reflect on our history and use this as a basis to overcome the current absurd situation,” adding, “Ending Yoon Seok-yeol’s internal strife is the first step toward setting history straight and changing the future.”
