경기도의회 여성가족평생교육위원회 김재훈 의원(국민의힘, 안양4)이 지난 2월 17일 경기도 청소년 육성기금 운영 현황과 향후 계획에 대한 업무보고에서 지속적인 점검과 개선을 주문하고 재원발굴을 통한 기금확대 필요성을 강조했다.

김재훈 의원은 “청소년 육성기금은 우리 사회의 미래인 청소년들에게 실질적인 도움을 주기 위해 마련된 기금인 만큼, 보다 효율적으로 운영될 수 있도록 지속적인 점검과 개선이 필요하다”며, “최근 조성액이 감소 추세를 보이고 있어 다양한 재원 발굴을 통한 기금 확대가 시급하다”고 강조했다.

이번 보고는 청소년 복지와 건전한 성장 지원을 위한 청소년 육성기금의 운영 실태를 점검하고 보다 효과적인 운용 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

김 의원은 기금 목적사업과 관련 “현재 청소년 육성기금의 사업 내용이 청소년들의 실질적인 욕구와 변화하는 사회 환경을 충분히 반영하고 있는지 검토가 필요하다”며, “디지털 역량 강화, 진로 탐색, 정신건강 지원 등 시대적 요구에 맞는 사업을 발굴하고 청소년들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 프로그램을 확대해야 한다”고 제안했다.

김재훈 의원은 “경기도 청소년 육성기금이 청소년들의 건강한 성장과 발전에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있도록 적극적인 의정활동을 펼치겠다”며, “(집행부가) 기금 조성액 확대와 목적사업 재정립을 위한 제도적 개선 방안을 적극 모색해 나가달라”고 당부했다.
