군포시가 오는 2월 21일 오후 1시 30분, 군포산업진흥원 컨벤션홀에서 웨어러블 로봇 실증센터 구축사업 출범식이 개최한다.

이번 출범식에는 군포시, 군포산업진흥원, 한국기계전자시험연구원, 한국로봇산업진흥원, 한국로봇산업협회, 고등기술연구원 등 6개 참여기관, 관련 기업, 유관기관의 대표자 약 80여 명이 참석할 예정이다. 군포시는 출범식을 통해 웨어러블 로봇 산업의 발전을 위한 협력관계가 강화될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

군포시는 이날 출범식에서 6개 참여기관 등과 업무협약을 체결할 예정이다.

특히 이날 행사에서는 엔젤로보틱스의 CTO인 공경철 박사가 ‘웨어러블 로봇 동향 및 기술’에 대한 특강을 진행할 예정이어서 참석자들은 최신 기술 동향과 산업 발전 방향에 대한 이해를 깊이 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

오숙 군포시 기업재정국장은 “웨어러블 로봇 실증센터 구축사업은 입는로봇 기술의 실증 및 상용화를 촉진하고, 관련 기업들의 경쟁력을 강화하는 중요한 발판이 될 것”이라며, “협약을 통해 웨어러블 로봇 산업의 기반이 더욱 견고해지고 군포시가 로봇 산업의 중심지로 자리매김할 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.

웨어러블 로봇 실증센터는 다양한 웨어러블 로봇을 상용화하기 위해 각종 인증 기준을 만들고 적용하는 일을 맡는다. 이를 통해 관련 기업들이 기술 개발과 실증을 보다 용이하게 할 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.
