군포시 산본도서관이 2025년 제57회 한국도서관상 단체상을 수상했다.
군포시 산본도서관은 1994년 건립 이래 군포시민의 독서문화의 중심적 역할을 수행해왔다. 2023년 리모델링을 통해 시니어를 위한 여유당, 다양한 문화활동을 제공할 수 있는 북스테어 공간, 시민의 생산성 있는 창작활동을 지원하는 메이커스페이스를 갖추며 변화하는 새로운 시대에 맞는 도서관으로 탈바꿈했다.
한국도서관상은 1969년 제정된 이래 매년 한국도서관 발전에 공적이 현저한 단체와 개인을 선정해 한국도서관협회 산하 위원회의 심사와 이사회 의결을 거쳐 수여되는 국내 도서관계 최고 권위의 상이다.
한국도서관협회는 지난 2월 12일 전국의 공공도서관, 대학도서관, 학교도서관, 전문도서관 등 1,500개가 넘는 회원도서관 가운데 18개 도서관과 16명의 개인 제57회 한국도서관상은 수상자로 선정하고, 시상식을 오는 2월 27일 오후 2시 국회도서관 지하1층 대강당에서 열리는 한국도서관협회 제76차 정기총회에서 진행할 예정이라고 발표했다.
산본도서관은 리모델링에 발맞추어 큰글자도서 등 시니어 특화자료 확충 및 보건소 연계 치매예방교실 운영, 국민연금공단 연계 노후대비교육 실시, 북스테어 공간을 활용한 도서관 음악회 개최, 메이커스페이스의 3D프린터, 레이저커터, 재봉기기를 시민들에게 제공하고 관련 강좌를 운영, 확충된 시설을 통해 시민들이 도서관을 최대한 활용할 수 있도록 뒷받침했다.
군포시 산본도서관 김경미 관장은 “국내 도서관계에서 가장 권위높은 상을 수상하게 되어 영광이다. 지금까지의 노력 덕분에 이러한 큰 영예를 얻을 수 있었던 만큼 앞으로도 시민이 만족할 수 있는 도서관이 되도록 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

Gunpo Sanbon Library won the Group Award at the 57th Korea Library Awards in 2025.
Since its establishment in 1994, Gunpo Sanbon Library has played a central role in Gunpo citizens' reading culture. Through remodeling in 2023, it has transformed into a library for the changing new era by adding a leisure center for seniors, a Bookstairs space that can provide various cultural activities, and a makerspace that supports citizens' productive creative activities.
The Korea Library Award is the most prestigious award in the domestic library industry, established in 1969, and is awarded annually to organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of Korean libraries after review by a committee under the Korea Library Association and resolution by the board of directors. The Korean Library Association announced on February 12 that it selected 18 libraries and 16 individuals as the winners of the 57th Korean Library Award among over 1,500 member libraries including public libraries, university libraries, school libraries, and specialized libraries nationwide, and that the awards ceremony will be held at the 76th regular general meeting of the Korean Library Association to be held at the main auditorium on the first basement floor of the National Assembly Library at 2:00 PM on February 27. In line with the remodeling, Sanbon Library expanded its senior-specific materials such as large-print books, operated dementia prevention classes in conjunction with public health centers, implemented retirement education in conjunction with the National Pension Service, held library concerts using the Bookstairs space, provided citizens with 3D printers, laser cutters, and sewing machines from the Makerspace, and operated related classes, supporting citizens to make the most of the library through the expanded facilities. Director Kim Kyung-mi of Gunpo City Sanbon Library said, “It is an honor to receive the most prestigious award in the domestic library industry. We have been able to receive this great honor thanks to our efforts so far, and we will continue to work hard to become a library that can satisfy citizens.”
