경기도가 실리콘밸리의 AI기업들과 협력해 도내 AI스타트업의 해외진출을 모색한다.
경기도는 지난 3월 17일부터 21일까지 5일간 미국 캘리포니아 산호세에서 열린 세계 최대 AI 컨퍼런스 ‘엔비디아 GTC 2025’에 참석해 경기도내 AI 스타트업의 글로벌 시장 진출을 위한 기반을 다졌다.
경기도 대표단은 김기병 AI국장을 단장으로 컨퍼런스에서 참석, 실파 콜핫카르 엔비디아 글로벌 국가 AI 협력 총괄, 수잔 마샬 인셉션 프로그램 시니어 디렉터 등 주요 임원들과 면담을 갖고, 경기도 AI 기업의 글로벌 경쟁력 강화를 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.
이번 회담에서는 경기도내 AI 스타트업 지원과 제조기업의 AI 전환(AX)을 촉진하기 위한 AI 컴퓨팅센터 구축 및 글로벌 협력 프로그램 구체화 방안이 집중적으로 다뤄졌다. 경기도대표단은 시스코, 세일즈포스 등 글로벌 빅테크 기업의 기술 및 스타트업·투자 담당 임원들과 만나 경기도의 AI 산업 경쟁력을 소개하고, 투자 및 협력 방안을 모색했다.
경기도 대표단은 경기도 AI 산업의 국제적 협력 네트워크 구축을 위해 토마스 빈더 프랑스 공공재정국장 겸 AI 총괄이사, 엠란 미안 영국 과학혁신기술부 국장, 리사 얀센 오스트레일리아 디지털 제품 디자인 국장 등 컨퍼런스에 참석한 주요 국가 AI 책임자들과의 만남을 통해 공공기관 관점에서의 AI 추진 방향과 협력 방안을 논의했다.
경기도는 이번 회의를 통해 빅테크 기업들이 경기도 AI 기업을 더욱 밀착 지원할 수 있는 협력 환경이 마련된 것으로 보고, 지난해 엔비디아와 체결한 업무 협력의 후속 조치로 도내 제조기업의 AI 전환 지원을 위한 ‘경기 AX센터’ 운영 관련 세부 협력을 진행할 방침이다.
김기병 경기도 AI국장은 “이번 엔비디아, 시스코, 세일즈포스 등 글로벌 빅테크 기업들과의 미팅은 경기도 AI 생태계가 글로벌 시장과 유기적으로 협력하고 있음을 보여주는 중요한 사례”라며 “이러한 노력을 통해 글로벌 AI 시장에서 성과를 내는 국내 AI 기업들이 지속적으로 탄생하고, 경기도가 글로벌 AI 혁신 허브로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Gyeonggi Province attended the world's largest AI conference, 'NVIDIA GTC 2025', held in San Jose, California, USA for five days from March 17 to 21, and laid the foundation for the global market entry of AI startups in Gyeonggi Province.
The Gyeonggi Province delegation, led by AI Director Kim Ki-byung, attended the conference and met with key executives, including NVIDIA Global Country AI Cooperation Director Shilpa Kolhatkar and Inception Program Senior Director Susan Marshall, and discussed cooperation measures to strengthen the global competitiveness of AI companies in Gyeonggi Province.
This meeting focused on establishing an AI computing center to support AI startups in Gyeonggi Province and to promote AI transformation (AX) of manufacturing companies, as well as specifying global cooperation programs. The Gyeonggi-do delegation met with technology and startup/investment executives from global big tech companies such as Cisco and Salesforce to introduce Gyeonggi-do's AI industry competitiveness and explore investment and cooperation plans.
