“경기도교육청이 대안교육기관 지원 확대를 위해 적극적으로 역할 해 달라.”

경기도의회 서성란 의원(국민의힘, 의왕2)이 지난 3월 25일 경기도교육청 평생교육과 관계자들과 대안교육기관의 공교육 서비스 개선 방안을 논의하기 위한 정담회에서 이같이 강조했다. 이날 서 의원은 “대안교육기관에 대한 지원 확대를 위한 경기도교육청의 적극적인 역할이 중요하다”며, “대안교육기관의 급식비 지원이 현실적으로 터무니없다. 현재 급식비 지원 단가는 만 원도 되지 않아 아이들에게 따뜻한 밥과 국조차 제대로 제공할 수 없는 현실”이라고 지적했다.

서성란 의원은 이번 정담회에 앞서 지난 11일, 경기도 미래평생교육국 청소년과 관계자들과의 정담회에서 하반기 대안학교를 비롯한 대안교육기관에 대한 급식비 지원 중단 우려를 제기한 바 있다.

서 의원은 이어서 “대안교육기관의 급식비 단가는 현실적으로 상향 조정돼야 한다”며, “급식 시설 환경 개선을 위해서도 제도적으로 지원해야 한다”고 강조했다.

서성란 의원은 대안교육기관 교직원 역량 강화를 위해 “온라인 교육 플랫폼을 활용해 교사들이 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 전문 교육 프로그램을 제공해야 한다”며, “경기도교육청은 대안교육기관과의 적극적인 소통과 협업으로 공교육 서비스의 질을 향상시켜야 한다”고 말했다.

서 의원은 이어서 “대안교육기관 아이들이 안정적으로 교육받을 수 있도록 인건비를 포함한 재정적 지원도 다각적으로 검토해야 한다”고 강조했다.
