과천시가 과천시청소년수련관 4층 토의실에서 지난 5월 13일, 21일, 22일 3회 ‘2025년 과천시 교육발전협의회’ 상반기 분과 회의를 개최했다.

이번 회의는 고등 분과(13일)를 시작으로 초등 분과(21일), 중등 분과(22일)가 연이어 열렸다.

과천시 교육발전협의회는 신계용 과천시장과 이승희 안양과천교육지원청 교육장이 공동위원장을 맡고 있으며, 과천시와 지역 교육 주체들이 한자리에 모여 교육 현안에 대한 의견을 교환하고, 지속적인 소통과 협력을 통해 지역 교육 발전을 도모를 목적으로 시의원, 학교장, 학부모 대표, 교육청 관계자, 공개 모집으로 위촉된 시민 등 총 49명으로 구성된 교육 협의 기구.

올해부터는 기존 회의 방식을 보완해 초등·중등·고등 3개 소위원회로 나눠 운영하고 있다. 이를 통해 학교 급별로 특화된 논의를 진행하고, 다양한 교육 현장의 목소리를 더욱 세밀하게 정책에 반영할 수 있는 구조를 마련했다.

이번 회의에서는 위원 위촉을 시작으로, 과천시 교육지원사업에 대한 설명, 각급 학교에서 겪는 현장의 어려움과 요구 사항 등을 중심으로 심도 깊은 논의가 이뤄졌다.

과천시는 이번 분과회의를 통해 도출된 제안과 건의사항을 과천시 교육정책 수립에 적극 반영할 예정이다.

Exchanging opinions on current educational issues and promoting regional educational development through continuous communication and cooperation

Gwacheon City held the first half division meeting of the ‘2025 Gwacheon City Education Development Council’ three times on May 13, 21, and 22 in the discussion room on the 4th floor of the Gwacheon City Youth Training Center.

This meeting started with the high school division (13th), followed by the elementary division (21st), and the middle school division (22nd).

The Gwacheon City Education Development Council is co-chaired by Mayor Shin Gye-yong of Gwacheon City and Superintendent Lee Seung-hee of Anyang Gwacheon Office of Education. It is an educational consultative body consisting of 49 members including city council members, school principals, parent representatives, education office officials, and citizens appointed through open recruitment, with the aim of bringing together Gwacheon City and local education stakeholders to exchange opinions on current educational issues and promote local educational development through continuous communication and cooperation.

Starting this year, the existing meeting method has been supplemented and operated by dividing it into three subcommittees: elementary, middle, and high school. Through this, a structure has been established to conduct specialized discussions by school level and reflect the voices of various educational sites in more detail in policies.

At this meeting, in-depth discussions were held, starting with the appointment of committee members, and focusing on explanations of Gwacheon City’s education support projects and difficulties and demands experienced by schools at all levels.

Gwacheon City plans to actively reflect the proposals and suggestions derived from this subcommittee meeting in establishing Gwacheon City’s education policy. Mayor Shin Kye-yong of Gwacheon City said, “The Education Development Council is not a simple meeting, but a meaningful place where we can directly listen to the voices of the educational field and reflect them in policies,” adding, “We will respond quickly to the members’ suggestions and change Gwacheon City’s educational environment for the better.”
