의왕시의회(의장 김학기)가 지난 5월 28일 하루 일정의 제311회 임시회를 열어 ‘2025년 의왕도시공사 행정사무조사계획서 승인의 건에 대한 재의요구안’ 등 상정된 안건을 의결했다.

의왕시의회는 이번 임시회에서 지방자치법 제120조 제1항에 따라 의왕시장으로 접수된 ‘2025년 의왕도시공사 행정사무조사계획서 승인의 건에 대한 재의요구안’에 대한 표결 결과, 재적의원 7명 중 찬성 3표, 반대 3표, 기권 1표로 재의안 의결정족수인 출석의원 3분의 2이상의 찬성을 얻지 못해 최종 부결 처리됐다. 이에 따라 의왕도시공사에 대한 행정사무조사는 실시하지 않게 됐다. 해당 안건은 지난 제310회 임시회에서 가결된 사안으로 의왕시는 행정공백 및 시민서비스 질 저하로 인한 공익침해 우려 등을 이유로 재의를 요청했다.

의왕시의회는 이날 김태흥 부의장이 대표발의한 ‘불법 여론조작사건 의왕시 공무원에 대한 후속조치 및 의왕시장 공개사과 촉구 건의안’과 박현호 의원이 대표발의한 ‘의왕시장 비서 사이버 여론조작 관련 행정사무조사 요구의 건’, ‘행정사무조사 특별위원회 구성결의안’, ‘행정사무조사 특별위원회 위원 선임의 건’을 가결 처리했다.

김학기 의장은 “시정 운영 과정에서 다양한 입장과 우려가 제기되는 것은 더 나은 정책 방향을 모색하기 위한 과정이라 생각한다”며, “앞으로도 의회는 시민의 대의기관으로서 시민의 뜻이 시정에 충실히 반영될 수 있도록 책임 있는 논의와 견제를 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
