과천시가 2025년 상반기 경기도 신속집행 평가에서 ‘다’그룹 내 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다고 지난 7월 9일 밝혔다. 선제적이고 적극적인 재정지출을 통해 지역경제 활성화를 선도하고자 했던 과천시의 노력이 높이 평가받은 것.

과천시는 이번 평가로 특별조정교부금 10억 원을 확보, 과천지식정보타운 문화체육시설 건립사업 등에 투입해 주민들의 생활 편의를 높일 계획이다.

특히 실질적인 경기부양 효과가 큰 소비·투자 분야에 예산을 집중해, 신속집행 분야 2,729억 원, 소비·투자 분야 978억 원을 집행함으로써 목표 대비 각각 148%, 116%의 높은 실적을 기록했다.

이번 경기도 평가는 도내 31개 시군을 규모에 따라 3개 그룹으로 나누고, 예산집행 목표 달성률과 소비·투자 실적 등 실질적인 경기 회복 기여도를 중심으로 심사했다. 과천시는 ‘다’그룹에서 우수한 성적을 거두며 최우수 기관의 영예를 안았다.

과천시는 지난 4월, 행정안전부가 발표한 2025년 1분기 지방재정 신속집행 평가에서도 시 단위 전국 1위를 차지해 최우수 기관으로 선정되며, 특별교부세 1억 2천만 원을 확보한 바 있다.
