민주평화통일자문회의 안양시협의회(회장 원광희)가 자문위원 32명과 함께 지난 7월 8일부터 9일까지 1박 2일 동안 고성 통일전망대, DMZ 박물관, 평화의 댐, 717오피 등 통일현장을 탐방했다.

원홍규 통일전망대 대표이사(예비역 소장)이 이번 탐방에서 특별 강연을 진행했다.

원 대표이사는 자신의 군 경력을 바탕으로 통일의 중요성과 한반도 평화에 대한 비전을 공유하며, 참가자들에게 큰 감동을 주었다.

민주평통 안양시협의회 자문위원들은 고성 통일전망대에서 북한을 바라보며 평화의 소중함을 느꼈고, DMZ 박물관에서는 분단의 역사와 DMZ의 중요성에 대해 배웠다. 특히 평화의 댐 방문 시, “물 자원의 관리가 통일에 기여할 수 있음을 깨달았다”며, “통일을 위한 준비가 필요하다는 책임감을 느꼈다”고 밝혔다.

원광희 회장은 “이번 탐방을 통해 자문위원들이 통일의 필요성과 중요성을 깊이 느끼고, 지역 사회에 통일 의식을 확산하는 데 기여할 수 있기를 바란다”고 전했다.

Anyang City Council of the Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council Conducts Unification Site Visit by Advisory Committee Members

The Anyang City Council of the Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council (Chairman Won Gwang-hee) and 32 advisory committee members visited unification sites such as the Goseong Unification Observatory, DMZ Museum, Peace Dam, and 717 Office for 2 days and 1 night from July 8 to 9.

Won Hong-gyu, CEO of the Unification Observatory (retired major general), gave a special lecture during this visit.

Based on his military career, CEO Won shared the importance of unification and his vision for peace on the Korean Peninsula, greatly inspiring the participants.

The Anyang City Council of the Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council members felt the importance of peace while looking at North Korea from the Goseong Unification Observatory, and learned about the history of division and the importance of the DMZ at the DMZ Museum. In particular, when visiting the Peace Dam, they said, “I realized that water resource management can contribute to unification,” and “I felt a sense of responsibility that we need to prepare for unification.” Chairman Won Gwang-hee said, “I hope that through this visit, the advisory committee members will be able to deeply feel the necessity and importance of unification and contribute to spreading awareness of unification in the local community.”
