더불어민주당 경기도당(위원장 김승원)이 지난 7월 23일 최근 집중호우로 큰 피해를 입은 경기도 가평군 조종면과 상면을 찾아 수해복구 활동으로 피해주민 지원에 총력을 다했다.

자원봉사자들은 침수 주택 내부 정리, 토사물 제거, 폐자재 수거, 농경지 복구 등 수해 피해 지역의 조속한 정비와 거주민들의 일상 회복을 위해 구슬땀을 흘렸다.

이날 수해복구 작업에는 김승원 경기도당위원장과 추미애·이수진·김현 국회의원, 성수석 이천시 지역위원장, 양재성 가평군의원 등 도내 60개 지역위원회 자원봉사자 200여명이 참여했다.

이재명 정부는 지난 7월 22일 가평군을 포함한 충남 서산·예산, 전남 담양, 경남 산청·합천 등 6개 지역을 특별재난지역으로 선포했다. 경기도는 가평군과 포천시 등 피해 주민에게 ‘일상회복지원금’을 지급하기로 했다.

김승원 위원장은 “실제로 피해 현장을 보니 상상 이상으로 참혹했다”며, “수재민들이 하루빨리 일상을 되찾을 수 있도록 경기도당의 모든 역량을 동원하겠다”고 말했다.

더불어민주당 경기도당은 지난 22일 열린 경기도당-경기도의회-경기도 당정협의회에서 집중호우 피해 대책을 논의하고, 경기도 차원의 적극적인 지원과 협력을 요청한 바 있다.
