안양시의회 채진기 의원(더불어민주당, 안양나)이 주최한 ‘직장운동경기부 운영조례 제정을 통한 지속가능한 스포츠 도시 조성 정책 토론회’가 지난 9월 25일 안양시의회 소회의실에서 열렸다. 이날 토론회에는 선수, 지도자, 학부모, 체육계 전문가와 시민 등 40여 명이 참석했다.

대림대학교 안을섭 교수는 기조 발제를 통해 안양시 직장운동경기부 운영의 현황과 과제를 짚으며 조례 제정의 필요성을 강조했다. 이어진 토론에서는 전문가와 현장 관계자들이 △선수 처우 개선, △체계적 지원 확대, △지역 연계 시스템 구축의 필요성에 의견을 모았다.

박우림 안양시청 롤러팀 감독은 지도자·선수 처우 현실화를 촉구했다. 김정민 안양과천교육지원청 장학사는 “지역 내 초·중·고, 대학, 직장운동경기부를 연계한 선수 육성 시스템이 필요하다”고 강조했다.

토론에 참여한 학부모와 클럽 관계자들도 유소년 선수들의 불안정한 미래와 이원화된 육성 시스템 문제를 지적했다. 안양시 체육과 관계자는 “시설 노후화 문제를 해결하고, 제안된 의견을 시정에 반영하겠다”고 약속했다.

채진기 의원은 “안양시가 지속가능한 스포츠 도시로 나아가기 위한 첫 걸음”이라며, “오늘 논의를 토대로 조례안을 마련해 선수와 시민 모두가 자부심을 느낄 수 있는 스포츠 생태계를 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
