경기도가 DMZ의 역사·생태·평화·문화 가치를 알리고, 경기북부 발전과 평화 이슈 확산을 위해 DMZ 일원에서 개최한 ‘DMZ OPEN 페스티벌’이 지난 8월 11일부터 11월 5일까지 약 3개월간의 대장정을 마무리했다.

‘DMZ 예술’ 평화의 선율, 경계를 넘다

페스티벌의 개막을 장식한 ‘DMZ OPEN 전시’는 8월 11일부터 11월 5일까지 파주 평화누리 일원에서 열려 약 52만 명이 관람했다.

‘DMZ 스포츠’ 경계를 넘어 함께 달리다

11월 1일 파주 임진강변 생태탐방로에서 열린 ‘DMZ OPEN 평화걷기’에는 주한 외국대사, 독립운동가 후손 등 1,600여 명이 참가했다. 참가자들은 민통선 내부 생태탐방로를 걸으며 DMZ의 평화·생태적 가치를 직접 체험했다.

‘DMZ 학술’ 평화와 생태, 미래를 논하다

11월 3일부터 5일까지 소노캄 고양에서는 ‘더 큰 평화 - DMZ에서 시작하는 미래 길 찾기’라는 주제로 ‘DMZ OPEN 에코피스포럼’이 개최됐다. 3일간 다양한 분야의 국내외 연사와 대학생, 중·고등학생, 일반참가자 등 약 5백 명이 함께 했다.
