과천시는 최근 과천시청 공무원 사칭 사기 사례가 특정 부서를 중심으로 발생함에 따라, 시와 거래한 업체들에 각별한 주의를 요청했다.

4일 과천시에 따르면 '회계과 ○○업무 ○○○ 주무관' 등 실제 부서명과 담당자 실명을 도용해 민간 업체에 물품 구매를 요구하는 사례가 확인돼 다수 피해가 발생했다. 시는 즉시 피해 확산 방지를 위한 긴급 대책을 마련했다.

'소방지원사업 긴급 물품 수의계약'을 명목으로 한 대리구매 사기 사례도 보고됐다. 사기범 A 씨는 시청 공무원 B 직원을 사칭해 기존 계약업체 C가 수의계약 한도 초과로 추가 계약이 불가능하다고 속인 뒤 다른 업체 D에 C 업체를 대신해 물품을 구매·납품하도록 유도해 대금을 편취했다. 동일 수법으로 총 2개 업체가 피해를 봤다. 피해액은 3500만 원으로 집계됐다.

현재까지 확인된 ‘소방지원사업 긴급 물품 수의계약’ 사칭 시도는 총 5건(피해 2건·미수 3건)이다. 2025년 하반기 동안 회계과 공무원을 사칭한 시도는 수십 건에 달하는 등 유사 범죄가 급증하고 있다.
