과천시의회가 과천위례선에 정부과천청사역·과천대로(문원)역·과천지구역·주암역·양재IC(장군마을)역 설치를 촉구하는 결의문을 채택했다.

시의회는 결의문에서 과천시는 광역교통개선대책 분담금을 부담하고 기피시설인 차량기지까지 수용하며 막대한 재정적·사회적 희생을 감내해왔다며 사업을 즉시 시행하라고 요구했다.

이어 과천위례선은 단순히 과천을 지나는 것이 아닌 신규 공공주택지구에 역사 설치를 전제한 것으로 시민들의 교통권 확보를 위한 정당한 요구라고 덧붙였다.

그러나 서울 서초구는 주암지구 중심에 설치가 예상되는 주암역을 서초구 우면동 선암IC 일대로 변경하라고 요구한 데 이어 최근 과천위례선 선바위역 경유 타당성 분석용역을 했다고 주장했다.

시의회는 서초구의 이런 움직임은 선암IC, 우면역 경유 노선과 선바위역 경유를 추가하기 위한 의도로 보인다며 5개 역 신설을 거듭 촉구했다.

시의회는 지난 18일 열린 제294회 제2차 정례회에서 이 같은 내용의 결의문을 채택하고 국토부 등 관련 기관에 전달했다.

Gwacheon City Council adopts resolution to "Implement the Construction of Five New Stations on the Gwacheon-Wirye Line."

The Gwacheon City Council adopted a resolution urging the construction of stations at the Gwacheon-Wirye Line, including the Government Complex Gwacheon Station, Gwacheon-daero (Munwon) Station, Gwacheon District Station, Juam Station, and Yangjae IC (Janggun Village).

In the resolution, the council stated that Gwacheon City has endured enormous financial and social sacrifices by shouldering its share of the metropolitan transportation improvement plan and even accepting a depot, a facility it deems undesirable. They demanded immediate implementation of the project.

They added that the Gwacheon-Wirye Line is not simply a transit line through Gwacheon, but rather a station built in a new public housing district. This is a legitimate demand to secure citizens' right to transportation.

However, Seocho District in Seoul demanded that Juam Station, originally slated for construction in the Juam District, be relocated to the Seonam IC area in Umyeon-dong, Seocho District. They also claimed that they had recently conducted a feasibility study on the Gwacheon-Wirye Line via Seonbawi Station.

The city council repeatedly urged the construction of five new stations, arguing that Seocho-gu's move appears to be intended to add routes via Seonam IC, Umyeon Station, and Seonbawi Station.

The city council adopted a resolution with these contents at the 294th regular session held on the 18th and forwarded it to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and other relevant agencies.
