김동연 경기도지사가 폭설 피해 복구 작업이 진행 중인 의왕 도깨비시장을 찾아 상인들을 격려했다. 2024년 11월 의왕 도깨비시장이 폭설 피해를 당한 후 세 번째 방문이다.

15일 27번째 민생경제 현장투어(달달버스-달려간 곳마다 달라집니다)차 의왕시를 찾은 김동연 지사는 도깨비시장 피해복구 공사 진행 상황과 설을 앞둔 시장 물가 동향 등을 점검하며 시장 상인들과 대화를 나눴다.

김동연 지사는 박용술 도깨비시장 상인회장을 만나 안부를 전한 후 “설 대목 장사 잘하시고 끝나면 신속하게 진행하겠다”고 상인들을 안심시켰다.

의왕 도깨비시장은 2024년 11월 폭설로 시장 아케이드(비 가림막)가 무너져 내리면서 상당수 점포가 문을 닫았던 아픔을 겪었던 곳이다. 김 지사는 피해 발생 당일 도깨비시장을 찾아 상인들을 위로하고 격려하면서 신속한 지원을 약속한 바 있다. 김 지사는 지난해 1월 26일에도 상인 위로 겸 물가 점검 등을 위해 도깨비시장을 방문했다.

이에 따라 도는 지난해 8월 아케이드 설치에 대한 특별조정교부금 30억 원을 지원했으며, 설치 공사가 지난해 11월부터 진행되고 있다. 아케이드 준공 목표는 오는 4월이다.
