경기도가 올해 상하수도 기반시설 개선에 6747억원을 투입한다고 밝혔다. 18일 도에 따르면 올해 배정된 상하수도 개선 예산은 상수도 832억원, 하수도 5915억원 등이다. 지난해 예산 5746억원보다 1001억원(17.4%)이 늘었다.

상수도 분야의 경우 323억원을 들여 광명시와 안양시 등에 고도정수처리시설을 설치하고 263억원을 노후 상수관망 정비와 정수장 개량에 투입한다. 양평군 등 43개 급수 취약지역에는 184억원을 들여 농어촌생활용수를 개발해 상수도 공급을 확대할 예정이다.

하수도 분야에선 3340억원을 투입해 30개 시·군 124곳의 하수관로 정비사업을 추진해 지반침하, 침수, 악취 등 생활 불편을 해소한다. 올해부터는 맨홀 추락방지 시설 설치에도 172억원을 투입해 장마철 안전사고를 예방한다. 가평군 등 20개 시·군 59곳에는 1969억원을 들여 공공하수처리장을 설치하거나 확충해 방류수에 대한 수질 관리 기반을 마련할 계획이다.

도 관계자는 “수돗물 안전과 공급 안정, 하수처리 인프라 확충과 정비를 신속하게 추진해 도민이 체감할 수 있는 물 복지를 실현하겠다”고 말했다.
